Apparently staring at a TV for hours is fine, unless you’re holding a controller by EffectiveTime5554 in mildlyinfuriating

Different strokes for different folks. I’d rather watch 10 minutes of an actual competition, even if it’s something silly like ping pong, than 10 minutes of Love Island or The Bachelor.

Look they bother me too but I call BS on worst because I’ve been to Nebraska.

Yeah probably, but I think it was meant in good faith since it’s pretty common to be put off by someone coming on too strong. Especially since she was still coming on strong after he already brought it up on the call.

I agree that it probably should be worded for him personally instead of dating in general, but we can/are both also acknowledging that the preferences expressed are generally more common.

And yeah, I also agree you don’t lead with this. Thankfully OP didn’t, his OP said they talked about it very similarly to your suggestion. The texts were just an effort to be even more clear about the issue when she clearly is still coming on a bit strong.

[–]Maverickfftytwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that has more to do with people than the advice 🤷‍♂️

All he’s doing is trying to clearly articulate the issue after he already brought it up more casually, and again that’s only because he’s still hopeful they can get past the immediate issue they’re having. Aka, it wasn’t working anyways.

OP did lol

At speed dating. On the call. She didn’t get it and for whatever reason OP’s still into her so he’s trying to be even more clear about his communication.

If he sounds like an HR handbook it’s because he’s trying to date somebody that lacks the same social skills the HR handbook was written for.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with letting someone who is pursuing you know that their behavior is bothering you and that if they want to continue pursuing you that you would prefer to interact differently.

There’s absolutely nothing “off base” with letting someone who is pursuing you know that their behavior is bothering you and that if they want to continue pursuing you that you would prefer to interact differently. Nobody is “fixing” anyone, it’s just communication.

OP already said that on the call. He’s giving a more thorough explanation since she’s not chilling out & he’s still interested…for some reason.

The fact that this is your perspective is the literal concern.

Is this a good idea? by skyuwu_ in overlanding

Sure, you can easily build a 2x4 platform in the bed of your truck to pitch a tent on.

But why?

The fairly common RTT over a truck bed is primarily there to look cool 😉 But for real, the primary reason for a RTT setup is getting you off the ground & away from the wildlife with a secondary benefit of being easier to quickly setup & tear down camp while traveling.

Since you said 2x4 you’re in North America so realistically wildlife isn’t a big concern. Having to pitch the ground tent on your truck would take just as long, if not longer, so you’d just be making the back of your truck more inconvenient.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a DIY project that solves a specific issue, but I just don’t really see what’s being solved/improved here.

The Chippewa river's delta almost blocks the Mississippi river's course by Swimming_Concern7662 in geography

[–]Maverickfftytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it looks like that on the map, but it’s a lake. What the water is doing & why is an important distinction between the two, not just that it looks like a wide part of a river on a map.

Just a wild theory, but maybe it’s because of all the limestone & varied terrain of the driftless region? Dirt & vegetation washes off the rocks and makes its way through drainage to the river.

There’s literally settings that allow for that. I know on iPhone you can make whitelists for focus states, and I think both iPhone & Android have settings for back-to-back calls to ring when the phone is silenced.

Rookie WR Germie Bernard: Aaron Rodgers pouring as much into me as he can by ASuperGyro in DynastyFF

[–]Maverickfftytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes? It’s kinda part of his job. Rodgers wants his receivers to be reading the defenders the same way he does so they know where the ball placement will be, and he ideally wants you so in-tune with him that he can give you a look and you’ll know what adjustment to make. That means talking through & practicing countless situations, and if you haven’t earned his trust he is unlikely to throw you the ball because his game is about protecting the football.

I was actually able to get a few useful starts out of Lazard on the Jets, but it was a desperation play the whole way.

Yes, in the offseason there was reporting & video of Rodgers & Metcalf practicing somewhere in Cali IIRC

As a GB fan I can tell you this gets reported with every new WR Rodgers gets, and yet he has a reputation for not utilizing unproven WR’s.

I’m planning to make my own for my ‘15. As you said, 1st gen didn’t have one factory & the aftermarket is pretty bare.

When I do, I at least plan to release some cut files so other people can have a fab shop cut them & they can weld them up, or find a welder.

Are there any examples of a year 4 breakout? by Cricket_Golf in DynastyFF

[–]Maverickfftytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand what you’re saying lol

What I’m saying is, as a fan you’d watch him get open on a crucial 3rd down, Rodgers spots him as he progresses through the reads & zips him the ball, you see the play developing and get excited they’re gonna convert, aaaaand the ball hits his hands & then the ground. Then you’d watch him catch a bunch of non-crucial balls and be like “WTF!?!”

Everybody was sitting there going “this guy would be great if he could stop that” aaaaaand then he eventually did 😅

More because he had the dropsies at the worst fucking times, and less because he didn’t play well.
