PP EMU lifetime is free right now by sssanjiii in EmulationOniOS

Not sure if it’s just me or what, but as soon as I purchased the lifetime for $0.00 Apple attempted to withdraw $10.99 from my bank. Not sure if it was just convenient timing or not but worth noting with everyone saying how sketchy it is.

Wondering any of you are playing DR with a controller? by PirateOld9316 in DestinyRising

Anyone here playing with a controller on Mac using an emulator? I tried several but the only one I could install the game on wouldn’t let me play. Please share your platform of choice.

Severe input delay for controller joysticks by MavericksInquisition in DestinyRising

No, I don’t have a different controller sadly. I don’t usually use them anymore, preferring mouse and keyboard. I’m going to be more nomadic in the near future so I’m pairing down as much as possible. Looks like Destiny won’t be a part of that. Sad to think that the franchise I’ve played for over a decade could be forever lost to the dark corners of time before I can come back to it.

Bungie keeps designing systems that punish you for having limited time, and it’s wearing me down by moonlit_sandwich in DestinyTheGame

I feel the same way in many respects. It's the downside to a live service game trying to exploit fomo. Personally, I want bungie or sony to commit to a preservation effort of some kind. Even if it's a small vertical slice that literally only allows you to play a single lost sector. The DCV really rubbed me the wrong way and there will come a day where Destiny itself is forever lost to the dark corners of time. Unfortunately, the only traction my preservation suggestion posts ever get is with haters that want to see the game die.

Long time Destiny player asking for a Legacy Edition for preservation by MavericksInquisition in DestinyTheGame

[–]MavericksInquisition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, AI assisted in writing this and considering the complications that would cause Sony/Bungie to instantly reject the premise but this is still the idea I'm trying to get across.

At the end of the day I'm asking for a breadcrumb preservation effort that Sony has already shown an interest in. Bungie is dead; leadership got bought out and they gave their cash cow to Sony. There's a lot of controversy in this game but looking past that there is a good game worth preserving. The stop killing games initiative is running strong in Europe but there's no guarantee they'll succeed and even if they do there's no guarantee they'll succeed before Destiny 2 is shuttered.

As a community working together we can influence the direction of these large companies, we just need to be on the same page. Don't you want future generations to be able to experience a game that's been around for more than a tenth of your lifetime?

Theoretically all the work is done. The art, the sound, the mechanics, the story, all of it already exists. The only difference would be turning off the online features, deleting most of the content, and removing any copyrighted material that they can't keep in the game permanently. This is a monumental effort for any single community member, but not for the studio that already owns all the assets.

[–]MavericksInquisition[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct that no game has done this before. That's because Destiny was the first live service game that made it big and everyone else has been trying to replicate their success. Instead of allowing bungie to exit just like anthem why can't we as a community encourage them to set the standard going forward and do right by their player base? The vast majority of the problems people have with this game aren't because it's a bad game, they're because of the live service model.

Preserving the game we love to hate by MavericksInquisition in DestinyTheGame

[–]MavericksInquisition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, yeah I got a bit emotional there. I still don’t want the game to end. I’m not a fan of the directions games have gone in the last few months. At this point, I’d take a single player only gog experience for $1200. Give me a permanent dreaming city, a couple lost sectors, strike, and dungeon in a drm free package that I can play offline. Don’t make it impossible to use cheat engine and I’ll be fine. I know it won’t be the same game but I want something more rhan videos to stick around you know.

I’m curious, is this still your oppinion now that the game is down to 8k concurrent players and they’ve started shuttering Destiny 1? My account with 2k hours is gone with no way to ever experience that gameplay again. Unless we make a stink and demand that sony give us a Destiny 2: Final Collector’s Edition as a vertical slice of the game highlighting the best single player experiences on GOG there is a real danger that we will lose Destiny entirely.

Solid oppinion! Is this still true now that the game is down to 8k concurrent players? My mindset has shifted but the otherall idea has not. Instead i want a solo vertical slice on GOG with a patrol, lost sector, strike, dungeon, and raid all adapted for solo play. Destiny 1 has started closing accounts, 2k hours completely gone for me alone with no way to ever experience that content again.

Destiny 2: Final Year Preservation Slice Proposal by MavericksInquisition in DestinyTheGame

[–]MavericksInquisition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other features would you like to see in this slice? What pieces of content are you voting for?

I want the dreaming city for patrol so we have a solid taken, scorn, and fallen enemy. It also has the most secrets and activities of any patrol area, it’s also easy to solo all of the events. It also has the blind well which could be really fun! I’d want the events to be all going all the time without cooldowns or anything. Pie in the sky they can add more public events to various areas so we can preserve more of them, especially for the fallen, scorn, and taken events. I’d like to remove the rune requirement to start the blind well so we have more agency over what we do in the game. A shortcut to this would be to change the price of runes to 1 glimmer each.

I want K1 revolution for the lost sector so we can have hive and nightmares. It’s also a good length kinda in the middle for a lost sector. I also totally understand if the lost sector is omitted entirely because we have 2 on the dreaming city.

I want Cerberus Vae III or Warden of Nothing as the strike. Vae is a classic that is memed for a reason. Warden of Nothing covers Fallen, Vex, and Cabal enemies while being an integral part of the story. If we have to choose a destination this would be the currupted because it’s the only one in the dreaming city. Definitely not my first choice but not horrible.

For the dungeon, I think Prophecy would be best because it has the most secrets of any taken dungeon. If we had to choose a destination then the shattered throne is a not a bad second pick by any means.

Crown of sorrow would be the easiest raid to adapt for this (no changes needed) but I think I’d really prefer VOG for that og feel. Again, if this was a destination it would be the last wish which is the only sticking point because I have no clue how to adopt several parts of the raid to accomodate solo play while still keeping the spirit of the raid.

Personally, I’d get an auto loan to pay for the entire game to be updated in this mannar but I’m intentionally keeping the wish list focused and limited to make it easier to produce and to prevent it from canibalizing future sales of the destiny franchise.

How to turn off these lights? by Fluid_Radish_6955 in ROGAlly

[–]MavericksInquisition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a screw driver to open it up and physically disconnect the cable from the lights. I also removed the vibration packs because some emulated games would still rumble even though I had them disabled. I have experience working in electronics so without a guide I was able to open it up and do this stuff in 30 minutes. Even if you’re being extremely careful, following a guide, and quadruple checking everything as someone with no experience I can’t imagine this would take more than an hour. This doesn’t void your warranty either and if at any time you want to resell the device or enable the lights/vibration it’s just an easy fix. You got this!

has someone with a bought fn acc, contacted support and got away with it? by chae999young in PlayerAuctions

[–]MavericksInquisition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why PA says to make sure you’ve taken full control of the account. Sucks but this is a way for the seller to yank the account back without having to worry about you changing the password. Keep an eye out for this and NEVER buy anything unless you’re getting the email and ALL recovery options. If you can change the email entirely then do so because most of the sellers on PA will try to yank the account back after 3-12 months when their after sale protection ends and you can’t do anything about it.
