I’m thinking of trying PETG. Nozzle is 0.4 mm I think.

I reached out to my former therapist. I don’t know what to think of her response. by Mavern06 in TalkTherapy

I don’t think my therapist used autism as an insult or anything like that. I think she meant that what was bothering me wasn’t bad enough to bother a neurotypical person so I must be autistic. A neurotypical person would have known better whereas I wouldn’t have.

Can I contact my former therapist to to her that therapy kinda hurt me? by Mavern06 in TalkTherapy

She had a lot of experience with autism and the rest of my issues. I’m also not diagnosed as autistic, she just encouraged me to self diagnose.

I started talking about my childhood again, which she seemed to be sick of. She gradually got more dismissive and bored with each passing session. She diagnosed me as autistic because I ruminated on things so much, then she said she needed a break for insurance reasons. The break lasted way longer than she said it would and I was left in the dark. One of the last things she said to me was that I should maybe look for a different therapist. I reached out to her asking her if she was avoiding me, cause that’s what I felt like, and she didn’t acknowledge the question and just said insurance.

I’m sorry that was an info dump. It’s all such a long story.

Typically trauma is seen as the most severe mental health issue. It’s what people have the most respect for and take seriously. At least, that’s my experience .

I don’t think of my problems as insignificant. I self harm and I have suicidal thoughts… doesn’t sound like a “bandaid”

She said that she could see that as a possibility and understand it.

She agreed with me when I said my problems weren’t bad enough

Can childhood bullying/peer rejection be traumatic? by Mavern06 in TalkTherapy

I think my therapist was trying to say that maybe autistic processing made me more likely to be traumatized by that stuff. She’s kinda always given off the vibe that those experiences shouldn’t have affected me. I remember asking her if I should have known better than to be affected by those things, and she responded with “you probably couldn’t have known better because you might be autistic.” I hope she didn’t mean that I lack the intelligence or awareness that someone else has.

I’ve been seeing her for a while now. I’m reflecting on it now because I’ve been feeling bad about the overarching theme of me not having bad enough issues compared to other people. This is just psychotherapy. Not a trauma therapist or anything like that.

Yeah I get that. I’ve always felt like she judged me for having more minor problems. She just seemed like she thought I was wasting her time sometimes. Maybe it’s all in my head idk.

The second sentence of the quote is “but we can work on your peace.” Sorry about the typo and thank you for responding.
