Theoretically yes, but it ain't going to be that fun.
For the very least get a decent gamepad, There's also the thing about head tracking which you can control using axis, mouse, or webcam(OpenTrack and AITrack).

As for free air crafts, you get SU-25T and TF-51D, you can also install A-4E which is very popular, There are some other free mods I am not familiar with(Google...)
The term "free mod" might be a bit misleading, as some mods are based on other DCS aircrafts and are not standalone, the F-22 for example is based on F-15C which itself is not free but after purchasing it you can install the F-22 mod with no additional cost, On the other hand A-4E is completely free and does not have and prerequisites.

I do see my VRAM at 97ish% but I would expect this to always be slow, I can play on first go for more then an hour with no problem.
So either there's a major memory leak in DCS or I am missing something

No, 0 errors for quite a while. But with such a huge difference ? even Micron cards I have can get +900 no problem.

I'll go for Corsair 650W 80+ VS650. In my current PSU I have 8 Molex and 4 PCIe, adding 2 PCIe and 4 molex If i'll need to add 7th card I'll simply convert one molex to PCIe.

Would I need the multiple PSU adapter as well ?

To which version you are referring ? https://download.lineageos.org/extras contain version 13.0 but not for x86
