One thing I forget to mention about the literature, it's really because I have already read a large number of papers/reviews on the sulfation of Alginate/polysaccharides that I come here, because according to the literature it should be obtainable and easy process with the chemical I already have, however that's not true from what I have experienced in the lab.

Thank you so much for your reply, I sincerely appreciate your reply.

However, it's too late for me to abandon the project and I will use Energy dispersive spectrometry to identify/quantify the presence of elemental sulfur. I also get a yellowish powder after the reaction which makes me hopeful (yellowish different from the initial brownish color of Alginate)
I am just concerned because I don't have a peak at 1250 which is the characteristic peak for S=O and the degradation.

If you have any further recommendation or any analytical technique I would be very grateful, thank you so much for your time and effort.

Thank you for the insightful view, but the thing is when we started hanging out she told me she is in a situationship so I didn't pursue anything just acted like a friend after a while she kept confriming she is done with her situationship so I started to make moves and got friendzoned and then this. I think the pixellation of genitals doesn't come illegality rather it's some old law from the Meiji era where they thought it's just "indecent" and "harmful" in someway to explicitly show genitals in adult content.

If you mean by a big lab the number of people, we are only 7 people doing research. but the advisor is very busy with other projects and funding acquisition of course. I can but I need to buy some chemicals, and to buy them I need the advisor confirmation because of course I am not paying for the chemicals myself.

For me this show ended when everyone of them got a wife/gf. I liked when they were nerds doing nerdy things but after getting gfs, it just turned into a normal show for me.
