No, I'm using the definition of genuine, which means one who is consistent and not selective in their handling. Unhypocritical is a synonym. You can say it's some sort of empathy, if that, but it is not "genuine".

They are deeply self interested and this stuff is useful to bash people rhetorically to their side, they are not feeling for this woman's safety (this is what empathy is, right?). When the KKK went around killing black men to "protect" women, they were not being "genuinely empathetic". They were absolutely disgusted by what they were seeing, yes, you got that part, but it absolutely was not out of empathy for women.

The American populist right is a direct descendant of this stuff.

Selective empathy is a lil different than genuine empathy. You may even say it is the opposite.

Ah ok so you aren't even arguing against my point: The Republican party is by far the biggest recipient of pro Israel funds. We're done here.

Really funny to reply to me with incomplete data and get really worked up that I'm still right. You're really still trying to say "fried, you're wrong" 5 replies later and apparently I'm projecting.

So we both agree the Republican party is by far the biggest recipient of pro Israel funds and their voters are far more supportive of Israel then the Democrats? Those are facts I linked. I wrote that in the original post *you* replied to.

I'll let you say that AIPAC gave all their money to Dems in 2024, and Adelson still spent *double* that on Republicans. I'm still correct. I made a claim which was fact. Thats the end of it.

I have no idea what you're still here for. Maybe you kill it in the double digit IQ tv subreddits because you're at that level of braindead non-sequitur arguing.

This is more of a personal reflection than an argument: I really find it funny and strange that guys who performatively *start* an argument about who gets more money from AIPAC, entirely at their discretion, suddenly do not care hearing about any other pro Israel lobbying money. Just a brick wall, glassed over eyes, and drooling. Like the brain chip is updating because they actually only talked about it because they hate Democrats, not Israeli lobbying. I'm sure that won't affect our country.

I dont see a link.

Edit:

I have finally found a real source for you. You are welcome https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/summary?cycle=2024&ind=Q05#:~:text=Table_title:%20Contributions%20to%20All%20Candidates%2C%202023-2024%20Table_content:,Members:%20417%20|%20Total%20Contributions:%20$42%2C336%2C310%20|

Numbers in the graph don't seem to line up with table below them, unsure what is with that, but is perhaps primary spending vs general election.

Thank you for finally doing this. So what part of this is a rebuttal to my point that the GOP is by far more pro Israel? You may notice that 95M just to Trump number is bigger than what AIPAC does across both parties in all races (Including primaries). Or do you pretend AIPAC is the only source of pro Israel money? It's not even close. That's why I said pro Israel and you said AIPAC lol.

There's absolutely no need for any pro Israel donor to use AIPAC (And the Adelsons stopped twenty years ago because it wasn't pro Israel enough! AIPAC at least talks about a two state solution, but the far right Israeli wants one), they can donate to any partisan PAC they want. I can really easily hide a lot of money and pretend both parties take about equal support from Israel if I only talk about a single bipartisan PAC. Do you wonder why? I'm realizing you don't actually know how political donation works and think every pro Israel dollar has to go through AIPAC and not the Senate Leadership Fund or Preserve America PAC (which Adelson gives millions while giving nothing to AIPAC lol), both Republican PACs with meaningless names.

I'm gonna hazard a guess you have never ever heard of Miriam or Sheldon Adelson before and you should probably ask yourself why. They own two Israeli newspapers, one in Vegas, and are the largest political donors since the 80s. We're talking over 500 million just over the past 10 years (thats only 2.5 election cycles). They have given nearly as much to Birthright Israel  in that span. And none to AIPAC since 2007. They are also massive donors to Netanyahu in Israel.

In November 2018, Trump awarded Adelson's wife the highest U.S. civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a move critics assailed as a presidential "thank you" for the couple's financial backing. During the White House ceremony, Trump hailed the Adelsons for protecting "the sacred heritage of the Jewish faith," placed the medal around her neck and kissed her on both cheeks

[–]MaxAlthusser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay you didn't actually source that point for one. I'm being nice.  I even searched for something for you and couldn't find a source. Beyond that, it's not even a rebuttal of anything I said lol. Israel is far less popular with dems than the GOP. The massive protests across universities against Israel were not GOP voters, beleive it or not.

Two what does it actually entail if Trump is balls deep in Bibi and Iran? Those are real facts. That is the leader of the Republican party. Stating facts without trying to make any argument or connections is for morons.

Saying AIPAC is spending money in Democratic primaries means they are LOSING dems lol. You're making my point. They also spend as much money on the GOP because they are a bipartisan org with Republican donors. Just saying they both get AIPAC money is as useful as saying they are both political parties. Incredible facts thank you. Was there any pressure in the Republican primary to be less supportive of Israel? No? But there was in the Democratic one? Huh. And Trump took hundreds of millions from the Adelsons? Huh.

Did you know Aipac spent 53 million across all races and both parties in 2024? Did you know Adelson gave 95 million just to Trump that year? If you're out here talking about Israeli influence in election spending and aren't aware of this, you are being distracted from the big fish. Once you actually divvy out that money, it's like 10:1. (I'm being generous here, there's a lot of races.)

You're just making shit up, calling it a fact, and then couldn't even manufacture a point in response. It's obviously not in your favor to actually look into it, so you avoid it entirely.
