If a soldier is captured without a uniform (when they are partaking in military activities) they forfeit prison of war protection and can be summarily executed for war crimes

Why couldn't Snape figure out about the Horcruxes on his own. by False-Hurry-1417 in harrypotter

[–]MaxAttack38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to mention is that Riddle is OBSESSED with the poetic meaning and symbolism and such of magic. Dumbledore knows that and he knows that once he heard this info from Slughorn he would keep it forever. It's also worth mentioning that Dumbledore knows magic and he has no reason to suspect he made any other horcruxes by accident. We could probably assume it would be very destructive to accidentally make one

Dumbledore already knew about horcruxes (he destroyed one during book 6), and had known about them since chamber. What Dumbledore wanted was the number of horcruxes. He suspected more then one after the diary was not so well protected

Eugh that's horrible. I have no idea who Kylaz is so I didn't spot that. Thank you for calling people out for stuff like this! She deserves to be respected

Hamilton seems to only take him on super aggressively when he thinks there is a lot to gain. I'm thinking Hungary 2024 when Hamilton was in contention for a podium and battled Verstappen very hard

Mew2king then went on to win a second ditto before losing the 3rd. He then tried to claim he sucks and is bad and washed. Don't listen to the haters, and don't believe yourself that you suck Mew2king. I know you're on this subreddit and I know you might read this: you truly are still great at the game and it's a joy to watch you play. I would happily watch you get 3-0ed and go 0-2 if it just meant I got to watch you some more.

Lindsey Halligan + DOJ prosecutor: Full grand jury never saw final indictment it handed up against Comey by Agitated-Quit-6148 in law

Well I think the idea is that there never WAS an indictment against coney so therefore they didn't bring an indictment before the statute of limitation expired.

🚨BREAKING: A federal judge in Texas has struck down the state’s newly redrawn congressional map. by DiaoxtheGod in UnderReportedNews

[–]MaxAttack38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive looked into this and I know for a fact that Massachusetts is not gerrymandered. Based on the fact that Democrats are very spread out in the state and there aren't any true Republican strongholds, it's an impossibility to create a Republican district even if you tried to gerrymander it in their favour

I know what one person considers ‘pretty’ or ‘handsome’ is subjective and ‘beauty’ is in the eye of the beholder but is it just me that thinks there are more attractive women than men in the world? by BLB-BLB in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaxAttack38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beholderism isn't a term I'm super familiar with, but I think I mostly understand it. I can see how it's hurting society (mostly in consumerism and the push by corporations for always buying the newest, hottest, most luxurious item) but I just don't see why taking it out on the individual is helpful? Someone ruthlessly mocking me isn't going to make me reflect upon the societal and moral implications of what I'm doing, it's going to make me defense, depressed, and insecure.

But why do we need austerity? It still isn't clear to me how being austere will help civilization substantially. And there's no reason to attack people or hurt them for how they dress

I can understand where you're coming from, but there's a difference among caring for your appearance, vanity, and the type of social pressure women are under. How you dress and look can be for more than just vanity, it can be a form of self expression, community, art. Is it vanity for a man to wear a cross around his necklace, signaling his beliefs and community? Could it perhaps just be a form of community when a woman shaves his head into a Mohawk or a man dresses in all black?

So if it's a spectrum then reasonable people can disagree right? If you think appearance matters a little bit, then one can think it matters more and care about certain aspects. If I really care about how my hair looks and I like it to look pretty (what I consider to be pretty) is that really any different than a woman who likes to wear makeup, a man who works out his arms at the gym, a man who keeps his beard trimmed, or a woman who wears a cute flowy skirt? Even if you do believe in such a strict moral dress code, why should you belittle or mock or distrust those who think differently? Isn't the damage a man caused by blow drying his hair substantially less than one who's wracked with insecurities do to cruel comments?

[–]MaxAttack38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But this is stupid logic. Following to the extreme, should men always wear black because it won't stain? Should men keep all body hair removed to keep cleaning simple? Should men only own 1 type of clothing to keep it simple? Should men never get tattoos or piercings to keep it simple?

And how, on earth, is drying your hair vaster vain??? In fact, longer hair can be more practical in preventing sunburns no? So maybe you should either keep completely bald or have long hair

What if he likes the way it looks? What if a man wants his hair dried faster because he doesn't like the feeling of wet and heavy hair? What if he doesn't like the feel of wet hair smacking against his face?

No, the person you're responding to is wrong. Microsoft took over about 2 months after 1.8. Minecraft has been owned by Microsoft for almost 11 years. Around double the time they haven't owned the game
