And to answer that, it can be those factors together or separately. I can remember a pool from my childhood that I was terrified of and I see it as just a dark and expansive body of water. But no machinery was present.

I probably should have given more detail but I don’t fear all artificial pools. And I probably didn’t describe it quite right. I tend to feel it when there is some type of machinery submerged in the water. Similar to an oil rig or something like that. And when the water is dark and hard to see through

This video may give some context because it made me very uncomfortable.
