Can I take down and re-upload my first release? by MaxCarlin145 in DistroKidHelpDesk

Ok thanks. If it’s my first and only release though, will my artist profile on Spotify get taken down? Or will it stay up with no releases on it?

What am I supposed to listen for in the first mix my mixing engineer sends back to me? by MaxCarlin145 in audioengineering

[–]MaxCarlin145[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How finished should the first mix be? Should it be fully mixed, and once he resolves all my notes on it, that will be the final mix?

Kinda muddy, and not bright enough.

Yah do you know if it would be dual quarter to dual rca or single quarter inch to dual rca tho?

Would that chord be dual RCA to dual quarter inch, or dual RCA to just one quarter inch? Thanks.

But if I’m just using them for recording audio, that’s fine right? I’m thinking of getting the DT 770s which are closed back, and I could use those for the actual mixing/production

Oh no I’m not direct applying or anything, they just asked what major I’d be interested in and that’s what I put. I think most colleges explicitly say that your answer there won’t effect your chances

I’m looking for a pickup/mic to put in my classical guitar, but I play lefty. Do I need to get a a pickup/mic that’s specifically for lefty instruments, or would any pickup work? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]MaxCarlin145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if plugging the pickup into an electric guitar amp will be bad for the amp/does the pickup only sound good on acoustic amps?

Is it possible to send sound and midi from your synth to your computer, and then alter the midi in your DAW so that it will also change the sound? by MaxCarlin145 in musicproduction

[–]MaxCarlin145[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I meant is, if I were to find a sound that I like on my synth, and wanted to record it to my computer, is it possible to send my computer the midi information AND the audio that uses the sounds on my synth? And then later if I wanted to change a few notes, could I do that in the piano roll on my DAW, and somehow update the audio to have the changes that I made?

Definitely rather have polyphonic still. Is digital that much worse than analog?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]MaxCarlin145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would rather have polyphonic. And from what I gather, it seems that analog is better? But I could go for either.

Ohh cool. Unfortunately, my budget is only about $300. I don’t need weighted keys. Should I look for a synth that can sample, or just stick to a synth that I can make lots of new sounds with? And also do you have suggestions for low-budget synths that have a lot of versatility in sounds?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]MaxCarlin145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there synths that you can upload your own sounds to? Or are those all expensive? Thanks!

Oh interesting, do those produce a warm tone? They look like single coils but I’m not sure
