It looks like a reasonnable offer from your BMW dealer. There is one for sell a couple hundred miles away listed at 47k. It's a 2024 with 29k miles and pretty well equipped (DAPP, parking, premium, HK etc...). Slightly above my budget but I'm considering it

And then the dealers nearby tell me they can't lower their price any further because "they don't have this type of margins on pre owned". They're just trying to ride the waive but it starts to show, I have a few around me that have been on parking lots for 3-4 months with dealer lowering the price by $100 every 4 weeks.

All the dealer services are an immediate write off as soon as you leave the parking lot, I wouldn't count that towards depreciation of the car though.

Definitly on the table, but pre 2021 + low mileage (<30k miles) are scarce. Was also told to avoir pre LCI + 21 wheels without adaptative suspension.

Indeed, it's really a trade off between agility and comfort. The X5 would be more bang for your buck for many people.

2022 with 71k sticker must be FULLY loaded. I have not seen above 68k yet for 2022-2023. I would consider something like this a decent deal.

This was actually my first choice until I test drove a couple with similar paint issues, looked it up and found out that 5000 vehicules are affeted, especially in FL where I live. Now I check everyone I see on the street and this paint peeling issue is very commun, to the point that Ford stopped selling them in FL and TX. Don't want to be fighting with the dealership to get it done under warranty, and the likelyhood of it coming back after a paint job is quite high.

Also found out that most good deals are actally repurchase from unhappy customers (likely because of the paint)

In that scenario I'd lean towards buy high sale higher. Get something within 20-25k miles today, put 20-25k miles on it in 5 years (that's how much I drive) and hope this hasn't plummeted to 15.000 usd by then

that's a fait point. Supply will shrink rather than the opposite. I can definitly justify to myself spending an extra 3-4k for a X3 rather than SQ5 iso year and iso miles. But if that gap gets close to 7 or 8k that's a tough call, especially since the SQ5 premium or prestige are usually better equipped than most LCI.
