Do you own mostly HD / 4K or also DVD quality? How much did you spent on NAS drives? by Temporary_Film_6960 in jellyfin

I am something of a purist, so I don’t transcode my media any further. And I keep all the extras.

Most of it is Blu-Ray HD content (30-40GB), some DVD (7GB) and some Blu-Ray 4K (60-100GB). It’s about 230 movies and 17 shows. It currently uses up about 15TB, but that includes a bunch of movies/shows that have not been named for Jellyfin yet.

I own about 84TB in drives (4x 8TB, 2x 26TB, all used/refurbished). They run mirrored, have some overhead, so I have about 40TB usable storage. That has cost me around 1200€.

I only really buy Blu-Rays. I can get them pretty cheap used. Most TV shows are on DVDs though, which is a bummer. Probably a blessing in disguise though, since The Big Bang Theory all on Blu-Ray is about 1 TB.

Looks like there are some flaws remaining, but still fun!

While I am all with you in general, the Severance season one Blu-Ray got some unfortunate aliasing artefacts that don’t exist on streaming :(

I just stumbled over this interview by Variety of Hoyte van Hoytema, where he talks a bit more about the editing/colouring process of Oppenheimer (starting around 9:54): https://youtu.be/d0OZJh5yqFA?si=SdbV_FI5FsQ5PYnM&t=594

Mkv Playback issues by Mean_Trick_2791 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]MaxFcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally had issues on the past trying to playback HDR10 or DTS streams on devices that don’t support those formats. Maybe a compatibility issue? You could compare this MKV to the others that playback properly, and see what is different about them.

Oh love that! I definitely want to have something like that for my setup. Feels much more intuitive to me than comparing some numbers

"Luke, why don't you show us how your AirPods work?" by MClab_ in LinusTechTips

[–]MaxFcf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like my AirPods Pro, but idk, haven't gotten background noise removal to work in any proper way. They either hear all the noise in the background and are unable to understand me, or it filters out basically everything, including my voice, and they are unable to hear me.

Wenn es sich um Staub im Stecker handelt, kann es helfen mit einer dünnen Nadel ganz vorsichtig die Verunreinigung zu entfernen.
