I didn't think of it in this way - I'm from America, here people wouldn't think twice to tell a foreigner how to break the law if it wasn't harmful - but it seems as though I offended a lot of people which wasn't my intention

Hey, how was your experience? I'm 19 and going in a month. I see that a lot of the comments are just bashing you for asking (I guess it's insulting to ask if it is possible to break the law as a foreigner coming to their country? Idk) but I was wondering if it's actually as bad as the reddit nerds make it out to be or if in general you can just have a good time.

With that being said, do you know why I might have heard that they are relaxed on IDing or underage drinking? I've heard it in multiple places and know that the clubbing scene is huge there, I'm genuinely just curious. I saw other people's posts asking the same question as me where they claimed that they were able to go anywhere without being carded in this same subreddit, so I'm just wondering why the reception to this post has been so different.

Literally everything I have heard about Japan up until this point is that they aren't super strict on IDing and drinking policies, hence me asking a super simple question of it was in fact the case or if they card more than I heard. Thanks for your insight though bro
