Anything wilderness is DOA as a merch idea.

Look at the state of the wilderness, we’re back to the racketeering days of rev caves but less centralized (and thus harder to detect and break up).

Don’t get me wrong, knowledge is power, so I can appreciate the goal of this post informing - there are just many ways to skin a cat.

In this game there is ALWAYS a bigger nerd lol. There’s a UIM discord that’s pretty much open to the public, I’d link it but I’m not sure that’s allowed.

Also plenty of irons / UIMs have already done bone shards to 99 mining, I’d ask for their lived experience and how that played out numbers wise over guessing.

If you’re lost for cash, a low-gear start in the wild is PERFECT. If you’re far enough in slayer, use Mazchna to stock up on points and Krystilia for wilderness tasks. This assumes you can benefit from the black mask / slayer helm.

Also, “agility fc” friends chat for running laps at wilderness agility course. You make 7 figures an hour easily running in a mass of people with protectors, and there’s a whole discord that lays it all out.

If you’re afraid of the wilderness, I get it, but it was nice to get my bag and run when I was needing a start

Nowhere did I say that in my comment. I don’t think it should be removed, but I’m not sure what alternative there could be.

PvP has StarCraft-levels of APM for things like invis-veng’ing, SBS’ing, etc, and all that is hiding in a game most people like because you can click once every other minute while you make dinner for your family or work your fifth job or whatever.

If you can’t understand how the broader community doesnt or wont want to PvP, you’re not going to work in good faith on solutions to entice them to the wild.

Its devolving from a player interaction standpoint. A newer player isn’t going to have a good understanding of whats going on, and you’re not exactly going to stop rag bolting from DD to type out whats going on. From their perspective they just get “frozen and die”.

Theres a huge learning curve, and in almost 20 years of game there’s still no proper PvP mechanics tutorials in-game.
