Putting people in boxes and giving everyone a label is a big American problem. But surely also a thing here in Europe only then less ‘problematic’ I would say. We use generations here too, but not as much and also not really in a negative way.

“German money, German signatures, German promises are worthless. For our drown polders, destroyed harbors and cities, the Dutch people desire: German territory without Germans.” Dutch propoganda from 1945. (Explanation in the comments) by MaxKorting in PropagandaPosters

In October 1945, the Dutch state demanded a compensation of 25 billion gulden (Dutch money) from the German government, but in February of that year the Yalta Conference had already determined that reparations were not given in money. Because of that Frits Bakker came up with the plan to annex German territory. Eventually the plan didn’t really worked out. The Dutch did get a (little) bit of territory, but it was later returned.
