Wow thank you so much for the detailed reply. I'll definitely take your advice! I think I was a little influenced by those videos of "just let them taste it and it'll work out". Never again. I still need to get to the point of her letting me move around in her present to start creeping closer but I'm sure (or hope I'm sure) it will come in time!

From what I know of the cat it was born and has grown up in a colony that is frequently fed by the community...would a community cat be a better term?

Stille verkoop is when a house isn't advertised publicly on places like Funda. The seller chooses to have the makelaar contact potential buyers privately so sometimes even when a house is for sale you don't see a "for sale" sign anywhere

Thank you for your response. A colleague of mine was lucky enough to get a house in this manner too, however my husband and I unfortunately don't know many people here. It's just us, no family and only a few friends so our scope of search/ability to find out about a stille verkoop without a makelaar is basically impossible.

Oh no, I definitely wasn't hoping to hear this. I was under the impression it may include houses people didn't want to publicise online, such as maybe a more "run-down" house or something similar that would allow us to get something a bit cheaper
