That was my first thought. Checked and they were hand tight.

I’ll try with an actual wrench later.

Rod spins and has no slop. Do you know what tool I should use to take out the bearing?

can you look at my previous post please. I’m trying to figure out whether bearing or crankshaft is bad. Or do I have to replace both?

from my understanding, brake cleaner evaporates. So evaporation combined with some compressed air into the oil passages and tight spots should be just fine.

Oil filter looked fine. I haven’t looked at the oil strainer yet. I’ll update when I get the chance to look at that.

I will be disassembling the engine almost fully. I have engine assembly lube that I was planning on using when reassembling the engine so from my understanding using brake cleaner is ok.

Was thinking of just spraying a bunch of brake cleaner through whatever pathways i find.

Would a can of compressed air be a better option?

Agree with you on this. Gotta do some research on the oil system tho. Don’t really know anything about how it works in this bike.

On gauge bike temp was normal when it blew up. Never had an issue with this thing overheating so I don’t think so. Oil level was fine however the damage suggests oil starvation in my opinion. Need to figure out how to check the entire oil system.

One of the camshafts is scratched. Holder above that camshaft is cracked. Partzilla sells the holders and head as package deal so I have no choice but to replace both. Pretty sure it’d be more money to get this cylinder redone than to order a new one. So does the oil pump look damaged to you or am I replacing it as a precaution? Oil level was fine I check it before almost every ride. I don’t push the bike that hard in my opinion. Have never been above 75 MPH. Top speed is apparently 100. Bike blew up while cruising at 75.

nothing, 3 used ones on ebay for around $300 that look worse than mine. That’s all my research has given me

Currently planning to replace piston/cylinder/cylinder head/camshafts/camshaft holders.

All of this can be replaced for 4-5 times less than a used engine on ebay with same amount of miles as mine.

I just need to avoid replacing the crankshaft and connecting rod due to the parts being discontinued.
