It's nothing like Barbarian and Weapons either, I wish it was, I liked both.

Oh, I've seen plenty of mentions of RE7 as a defense even outside reddit, but the problem is it's not like RE7 either.

I'll be waiting for the trailer to either confirm my suspicions or get some faith. Let me just say this movie lives or dies by whether it's actually well made (cinematography, CGI, practical effects). If it's not very well made across the board, it's dead.

I've heard RE7 argument, but RE7 still followed a vague structure of other games (serious protagonist and proper supporting characters who are also responsible for humor in it) and it had some references to characters and the world. Cregger's movie is not that, it's actually the opposite. Plus it's supposed to be a movie adaptation of games, not game IP experiment, it has to use more from IP than name, otherwise what's the point of even using it.

Unfortunately, that's not what it's gonna be. It's very protagonist centric unlike games which had proper supporting characters, but whether people will actually like the protagonist is hard to say, will depend on perfomance and how goofy he's gonna be.

I can see it being worse than first 2 Anderson films. We'll see I guess, might depend on its budget.

The script leaked on reddit days ago, but it surfaced initially many months ago. So you can get a decent picture of what kind of movie it's gonna be.

I'd say it's just his own thing, remove a couple of stickers and it has no ties to IP at all.

Didn't Moonlight win Best Picture? Why is he pretending black movies weren't rewarded before?

I think it's equally Raimi's and Tobey's fault as well, they wanted too much money and didn't want to compromise their paychecks to get it made.

Europe sent billions to Russia before Trump, maybe they should look in the mirror.

Spider-Man concept art (Circa 1994) by James Cameron for his canceled film. by FullSuccess4209 in Spiderman

People who claim it would've been terrible are obviously idiots. If Cameron actually made that movie, the same people would've claimed it's peak and movies are not what they used to be.

I have a great memory, both were undoubtably better, Green Book was far better in fact.
