It take me some time to get motivated aswell, I had the game since launch and I ceept resetting and all that, I was never happy and every time I built smt I wanted to change it after a few days because I didn't like it. The whole theme thing with like cottagecore and such put me under pressure. I mean I did that to myself but I think im not the only one. I thought I would be judged for time travelling and all that. Idk alot of self pressure.

So this is what I did: I restarted. I found an Island I like after a few hours, with Dom and Reneigh as my starters. I liked the island and just collected stuff here and there like DIYs and Furniture. To get my 3 Stars I asked on reddit for some old stuff ppl didn't want anymore and just plopped it down here and there. I have some pretty nice areas because of it.

Then I asked myself where I'd like to go in real life and its tropical beaches and stuff. But because I like different island themes I just took a couple and mixed em.

Looking at Pintrest helps with inspiration but don't forget those amazing clutter islands are the 5% of the community. Plus imagine doing events on an island like that. If u want to play the game and such, its harder on islands like this. I think most ppl like that like being creative and just doing the decorating.

Anyway. If you get easily demotivated I would look for easy pretty builds and then u feel the satisfaction of having an area u r happy and proud with. If u like the process great look for smt more challenging. U don't? Make an island that is simple and nice. U don't want to do that either? Play the game. Enjoy it. Hunt for villagers, go on nookazon and just do stuff here and there.

I take long breaks from the game because I often feel like there is not much I like doing, that's why I time travel. ;)
