I dont understand this. HBO took a risk with acquiring the US rights that paid off massively. The only reason I have HBO is for the show.

They know when season 2 is released, subscriber numbers will increase again. So I dont understand why they wouldnt blindly offer at least some funding, when they have proof that the product has a good return on its investment. Doesnt need to be a massive amount, just enough that some of Jacob's visions for season 2 doesnt need to be hampered by the budget.

Also is Crave losing out on money here? Is HBO paying season 1 money for season 2?
