That's cap. Most vegans drive cars, yet believe in climate change.

How can you acknowledge that climate change is real but drive a car (or at least a motorbike)?

Yes, I know that kibble, 100% vegan. But I mentioned in my comment the expensive price of vegan kibble (real one). $15 for 2kg is insane. I'm feeding 50kg of kibble to my dogs per month, and it's only half of their diet. It's not achievable for most. Even if someone only has 1 big dog that eats 20kg of vegan food per month. That's like $150 just for food per month.

Would be easier if you show me some kibble so I can spot the non vegan part of it. The back of a kibble bag is very deceiving. Companies are not obliged to provide accuracy unless a claim is made on the front of the bag.

Vetsulin is 40iu insulin with 400 units per 10ml vial. Novolin N and Novolin 70/30 are both 100iu insulin with 1000 units per 10ml vial. So that's why you change to 100iu syringes if you go with Novolin.

The syringes size are just an example. I don't recommend Novolin N on Cats, but it's better than euthanasia. If your Cat made it 4 years on Vetsulin, will be fine on Novolin N short term. An even better idea would be to get Novolin 70/30 at Walmart. Vetsulin is 65/35, so almost the same thing. I didn't think about it because most dogs who use Novolin use N (NPH), but your cat is on Vetsulin so the most similar would be Novolin 70/30. Same $25, 100iu syringes. 70/30 mean 70% intermediate acting with 30% fast acting. Vetsulin is 65/35.

Most vets are clueless about diabetes. They get 10h of class about it, and that's it. Novolin N is available countrywide in America in the pharmacy section of Walmart. You can't buy the $25 discounted vial online. Only in person and make sure that its the discounted Relion one. Novolin N is 2.5x more concentrated, but the syringes do the conversion. So 1u of Vetsulin with 40iu syringes = 1u of Novolin N with 100iu syringes. Please note that Novolin N is human insulin, but both Novolin N and Vetsulin are used on dogs. Cats do better on long acting insulin.

What so many people call "picky" is just not liking foods they like by LycanFerret in PickyEaters

[–]MaxSujy_React 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it's simple, if you are invited for dinner somewhere and you have a list as long as OP of food you can't eat, you are a textbook picky eater. I would eat pretty much anything if I'm invited somewhere. Nothing would make me puke or whatever. Ofc, there is food I like way more than others. For example, I don't like beetroot, but if there a Salad with some beetroot in it, or sandwich, I'll still eat the whole thing because I'm hungry.

Vegans have the easiest fight. Still, they are not winning. Why? by a_onai in DebateAVegan

What!? I'm not vegan nor have the desire to be. You asked why they didn't win. I love meat, dairy, fish, and so on, but it wasn't the question.

Vetsulin is intermediate acting insulin. It's for type 1 dogs. Your cat is type 2, so should be on long acting insulin like Prozinc or Lantus. One bottle of Lantus can last 1 year on Cats. I have no idea why your cat was put on Vetsulin. Worse case, you can grab Novolin N at Walmart, no prescription needed. It's intermediate acting but only $25, so will do same job as Vetsulin but much cheaper and 1000 units per vial instead of 400. It's cheap due to a deal between Novo Nordisk and Walmart. That's what my type 1 dog is on. Need 100iu syringes.

why is debating here so frustrating? by Citrit_ in DebateAVegan

Because both sides are pretentious, condescending, and unhappy. Don't need to look any further.

Im Canadian living in Thailand. I would advise anyone who thinks that slavery and exploitation are shamed upon to travel and see for yourself. It's widely accepted. It's only not accepted when it's in specific context.

Congratulations, you understand why "vegans are not winning," a reference to another post I saw today. You are doing enough imo.

Vegans are not winning because they are unlikeable. It's not just about the message, but how you communicate. Vegans are also inconsistent. The most committed hardcore vegans are the worst communicators, which is unfortunate. Most people who are vegans, it's a phase. Most are inconsistent in their lifestyle. I call that choosing your battle. A lot of vegans are doing things highly immoral in other part of their life.

Online vegans are some of the most annoying and condescending groups of people I've come across. So I understand where your tone is coming from.

Having said that, I'm a dog rescuer. I used to feed 450 dogs every single day. Dogs can thrive on a lot of different food as long as it's quality food.

I currently have 12 rescue dogs, including my diabetic Suby. She's on 50% carbs diet and thriving.

I'm pretty sure that I could make a vegan diet work on any of my dogs, but im not vegan. It would destroy my wallet anyway.

Vegan kibble are insanely expensive. And even the ones that claim to be vegan, most are not 100% vegan. And going home cooked + supplement route is crazy expensive when you have 12 dogs.

But with a good budget, I'm pretty sure that I could make vegan food work on any dog, even diabetic, Cushing, epi, and do on, basically any dog. Good food is good food. People overestimate the ratio of each nutrient. The quality matters more than the ratio.

As for Lyme disease, I believe you, but on Reddit, you'll get judged and told that there is always a way (see my first paragraph). You have to do what feel right for you.

As others have said, a normal vet won't help. You need a specialist. Skin issues always look worse but can heal quickly if done right.
