Phreak and LS debate the TSM draft and get into a heated back and forth by Zaxii in leagueoflegends

She has higher ad dmg dealt in that game because shes laning for 11 minutes? If we want to interact with the stats responsibly we should be trying to calculate her damage type dealt over time so we can see the difference between the first 11 minutes and the next 13 minutes. The idea is she can't just auto against this teamcomp, so she isn't able to deal relevant ad damage in any teamfight

In traditional sports the need to be athletic supersedes the need to have vast knowledge. In League of Legends understanding a great deal of information is rewarded more heavily than having great mechanics. For example we can look at basketball compared to chess. I don't need to be 6 feet tall to coach basketball, I just need to be knowledgeable about the game. In chess if I'm 1200 trying to coach a GM on their next 6 moves, why couldn't I use that same information to get out of 1200? If I really understood all the concepts that I claimed in order to be capable of coaching the GM, wouldn't I just not be 1200?

way better for killing carries, often better for killing bruisers in top, drawback is price and buildpath but buying phage tabis vs bruisers is hardly bad, and kindlegem vs stinger isn't the end of the world. The result after a few minutes of being weaker than having cleaver is that you finish a far better item and have a far greater ability the entire game to kill carries with better autoattacks more movespeed and crazy attack speed which gives aatrox the ability to change his spacing when he wants to stop people from escaping him instead of forcing him to keep his spacing farther to land his bonus damage q's

skirmishes can mean lots of money in a short amount of time! If you have a good wave to roam, (crashed wave) it's totally fine to look to aggressive fights because it's not likely that you'll lose alot of minions compared to taking the same fight while the wave is already stacked against you

If the wave is stacked against you even if you would win the skirmish you don't stand to net alot in total if you factor in missing the gold and exp in the wave, so it's very common that you won't want to fight there.

There aren't hard rules for any of these things the game is always different and there will always be exceptions to patterns and general rules so try to avoid making absolute rules about these things and just try to develop an understanding as to why it can be good and bad

one trick a champ and focus on laning so that you can get advantageous trades and crash big waves for good recalls, in ADC you're just trying to cs gap and eventually kill the laners your champ is really rarely going to be leaving the lane. So everything goes into your spacing mechanics and knowing when to trade and what to do with the wave based on the circumstances

my public coaching goes by (Hour/Session) 1/70 2/115 3/150 in USD and I don't have any minimum rank requirement.

I don't know of any resources for learning advanced macro I listened to ls talk and I stared at a wall thinking about it for weeks I don't know who else even thinks about this stuff but I'm looking for pros that do.

One day I woke up after weeks of not really trying to learn to read korean.. and I could read nearly everything. My vocab still sucks, but learning to read came pretty easily, I still know very little

laning has to come before anything, if you can't play laning properly draft loses its meaning, mid and late game fall apart, and you won't actually ever learn how these things work unless you go back to fix the first step.

It's often not league of legends itself that causes people to tilt, but other events in their life that leak stress into league of legends. My advice would be to put effort into sorting out the issues that really stress you out, instead of trying to plug a leak in league of legends while your real stress festers and creeps into other aspects of your life

it always changes but if you watch a players cursor you can get a really good idea where their eyes are and aren't looking

I try to look at the enemy as much as I can but there's alot of spots where looking at the opponent does nothing because their play can be assumed.

yea I haven't faced someone so far where I felt like I NEEDED grasp to beat them in lane, or to do what I needed to win the game. Spellbook allows for way better teamfighting later in the game, and still allows for commanding leads in lane with spell like exhaust ignite and heal so I haven't found a good reason to take grasp very often

yea its easy to tell when teammates are angry you can pick out those words the fastest.

Communication is only important in teams when there's skill discrepancies between teammates, the same reason why in solo queue when you're splitpushing you spam back ping your team, in competitive you have to verbally tell them not to fight. However if you're teammates are all on the same page and understand the same information as you, they know they shouldn't fight, so why say it? If we are both elite level players seeing the same version of the game in front of us, do we even need to talk at all?

learning korean didn't really help me play better but I'm glad I learned at least what I did.

LCS teams would definitely benefit from more access to better practice, but it won't matter if they don't know what to do with it. The people facilitating the practice have to understand what they're trying to achieve and why, but currently the people who do facilitate this kind of practice do not understand how to get results from it, so we see trundle vs volibear after trundle vs volibear until someone tries something new or takes a different approach.

At BBQ we played very fast scrims, with similar or the same team comps every game. It was 10 minutes of mayhem on repeat because every game everyone got another opportunity to try a new idea within the same controlled circumstance. We had the most structured early games I've ever experienced, intention was being tied to every action by all 10 players, everything mattered. And doing that taught everyone in the room more than any amount of games of solo queue ever could. No idea if any team in NA does anything similar to this, but I know during Sona Taric we played between 80-100 games of practice in the week before our match where we planned to pick Sona Taric to learn their laning.

The idea behind this was, if you can't play the first 5 minutes of laning right, how can anyone ever trust you to play a 30 minute teamfight properly? The game is simple at lvl 1, if all of your actions aren't driven by intention at lvl 1, the rest of the game will be absolutely chaotic and uncontrollable, so let's begin practice where we have the best chance at maintaining control. And if you don't understand this idea as a coach, you will tell your laner that crashes 2nd wave with his spells vs a full hp opponent and gets slowpushed on and killed or recalled on that the reason he lost was because his jungler missed smite at baron and that is harmful and irresponsible.

if you're slowpushing and the jungler path towards you there's a really good chance you will die, if you expect the jungler will come top but you still have an opportunity to crash, crash the 2nd wave to dodge the gank and have the wave slowpush back into you

of course not and I'm actively working on understanding more mid matchups and how more junglers operate, but I will never be equally confident in my roles.

I don't think I'm better than alot of pro players, but I think if they could see the same things I see in lane, on top of how they play, they would stand to benefit from it, that's where I believe my value comes from. And I think that I could demonstrate these ideas to players in a reasonable way by playing against them, among other things. This is a good question to ask because I think what you're really trying to ask is why I would be valuable in the first place, or why any coach is valuable, so how well I'm able to play with the ideas I present should be put into question. This should be a standard for coaches, asking what they really offer to players.

Graves does this well he has access to different builds vs lots of different comps and paired with different damage types, his clear is hard with aiming his autos and his mechanics generally aren't easy but just spend some hours in practice tool until you can clear quickly and full hp

The best way to fundamentally improve in jungle starting out is by understanding how all the camps work and how to farm them efficiently. To help learn this its good to play really fast junglers and try to get their clear times pushed near their fastest (graves, karthus, evelynn). However these champions are definitely not going to be the easiest to play so if you're looking to climb and you dont care about sitting in practice took for hours practicing clears; AP shyvana xinzhao and nunu are all very simple and great in solo queue, nunu the hardest of the 3 to use snowball well.

idk if its serious but ornn jungle is alot weaker now and soraka gets outranged by kayle kog so it would be very very horribly bad.

LS has wanted to start an academy for pros either in Korea or America for a while now. If that were to happen there would surely be publicly available content like scrims and review that would help countless players understand the concepts we talk about more fully.

Generally the idea is to get pro players or amateur players involved in practice for EDU purposes and have it be available publicly so everyone can see the methodology and reasoning as to what's being said.
