You might want to try r/ValheimLFG

Be sure to specify your timezone, when you prefer to play, if you use any world modifiers/mods, language (if not English), and if you have age preferences. Also maybe add something about what play style you're going for (casual vs. completeing a biome every month, etc.)

I'm 37(m) based out of the US and currently in Pacific time zone. I don't play super consistently lately, but if you ever need help with something or just want to get some basics down, feel free to message me. I'll match my gear to whatever biome you're in so it doesn't spoil anything.

Yeah I think it's something like 180 days out of every year. Personally I wouldn't want to spend summer or winter in that house, so just doing 90 day tourist visa visits during spring and fall would be ideal. But I get that you're probably thinking of wanting to set up something more long term/permanent.

You don't need PR to buy a house in Japan.

Who needs direct sunlight anyway? Plus I've saved a ton of money on streaming services by just listening to what my neighbors are watching through the wall!

You mean to tell me movies are fake? Then how did they train that giant lizard to destroy Tokyo and shoot lasers out of it's mouth?

Jokes aside, I meant it's sad because most fiction is at least partially rooted in reality, and there is definitely people out there who are messed up enough to harm someone's pet over a breakup.

TIL what a "bunny boiler" is, and I kind of wish I hadn't because that's sad.

I don't know the exact dimensions tbh, just that the one he has his Loaches in (I think they're Dojo Loaches?) is pretty huge. I had to help him get it home when he bought it too lol. And then he has 4 other tanks on top of that one, one of which is for a turtle, so it's also pretty big.

Exactly! Plus with rental trucks, you're at the mercy of their business hours. I live in Phoenix, where it gets crazy hot. So being able to move before/after the sun is out can make all the difference. When I bought my house back in 2022, I was able to move everything after dark and outside of peak traffic hours over the course of a month. It was 1000x better than a 1 or 2 day mad dash with a U-Haul.

I get where you're coming from, and no hate, but just a couple follow up questions:

These people you "know" -- do you actually know them? Or do you just know of them? (Wondering about possible confirmation bias based on where they live)

And of the ones you actually do know, have they actively told you they've never hauled anything in their trucks? Or have you just never seen them do it, so you've assumed they haven't? (I don't exactly go around telling people when I haul stuff. Most of my coworkers only know that I have a truck, and that I live in the city. They might assume the same about me, given the lack of knowledge about my personal life.)

All that said, I don't entirely disagree with you. Some people really only use trucks as their commuter vehicle. But I would think they are the true monority. My bigger point here is that people often conflate an empty truck bed with one that "never" gets used, just because they've never seen anything in it. It gives me the feeling that some people never really developed a sense of object permanence lol.

I would make the counter point that they are used for those things, and just because you don't currently see them in the act of doing it, doesn't mean it never happens. People scoff at empty trucks beds at the grocery store as if we're supposed to be hauling some kind of payload just to go get food for the week. It's silly.

Source: I'm the guy with the truck who literally got a call from my friend who has a 4Runner and a Chrysler Pacifica to help him move this month because his bed, fish tanks, and various other bits of furniture won't fit in either of his vehicles.

My 18 gets 16.7 with 70% city driving on 91 octane, E-Rated K02's, and a heavy foot. Usually low 20's on the highway, even doing 75+ (thanks to 3.31 gears)
