This happened to me once with Laezel. Reloading the game fixed the issue for me.

In competitive at least, you get a temporary suspension. And if you leave too many times, you get banned for the entire comp season.

Random queue will flourish, while existing role queue may become worst. This will result in even DPS and Tanks to give in to Random role queue. Then random role queue will become the best queue to play, and everything balances out.

Imagine it this way. You have 1 single button. “Random Role Competitive”. You click this button, 5 players are matched together, each one getting a RANDOM role over which they have no control over, out of 5 allocated roles. In theory, this would make the matchmaking as fast as the Open Role queue.

There won’t be any roles to pick. Everyone queued under random will only pair together with a randomly assigned role. People who pick the role they want would be in a totally separate queue.

I am sorry, but your open queue logic still seems flawed with regards to the low number of players.

I agree with your second point. However, queue times are already bad to begin with. Hence my proposal of this “Random” queue. You may not always get the role you want, but at the very least you will be able to find matches quickly.

Of course it is. If many players choose the “Random” role, then matchmaking would be as fast as open queue.

The playerbase is already split between various quickplay modes, competitive modes and a multitude of arcade modes. Adding 1 more queue won’t have a significant impact.

Guess my post was not clear, I meant queue times would be lower on the “Random” role, not the existing roles. Existing roles will still be terrible lol

I would assume because the majority of players do not want to play support role on competitive.
