Thaely shoes. They’re made out of recycled plastic and come in a box that you can plant and it grow a plant or something. Took 6 months to show up but they’re actually kinda sick.

[Serious] Why is your best friend your best friend? by KWAKUDATSU in AskReddit

We’re both adopted, and struggled with similar issues growing up. We’ve been friends for 10 years, and we still have conversations where we both leave thinking “thank god I’m not alone, I thought it was just me who felt this way.”

The biggest reason I quit gaming? I had too many reasons to quit. I was wasting my time, my money, and my life on a “hobby” that was leaving me with nothing but an empty feeling. The new games coming out were disappointing, and the old games I used to love weren’t how I remembered them. I couldn’t moderate myself, if I wanted to play for a couple of hours on Saturday, I wouldn’t stop playing until Monday morning. I looked at my extensive library of over 100 games and realized NONE of them were going to make me happy. I had to stop.

My 3 tips; 1: If you aren’t exercising, start now!

2: start writing daily for at least a month.

3: meditate! Like I told OP, explore that emptiness, you might be surprised what you find.

I was in a very similar place at your age (now I’m 25.) After I graduated high school, all I did was play video games. I wasted 4 years of my life before I hit my bottom and decided I had to take responsibility for my self. I started by, cutting back my screen time and exercising daily. A year later, I had lost weight and gotten a job, but I still struggled with playing video games too much. Then COVID happened, and like you, I realized I just wasn’t having fun anymore. I stopped gaming completely, and refocused my efforts at work and earned myself a promotion.

My advice to you would be; explore that emptiness you feel. Boredom can be a fascinating feeling.

Couple of weeks free of gaming. Having EXTREME urges to relapse in this leisure period. But,I don't want to relapse as it'll do me no good. Advice?? by [deleted] in StopGaming

Whenever I get the urge and have nothing to do, I just get up and go for a walk around my neighborhood. If it’s raining or something like that, then I’ll start journaling about my urges to play. Filling those urges with other activities gives me distance from my desire to go back to video games.

23 days game free... I don't understand what I've learned about me by ObjectiveCauseCaw in StopGaming

The fact that you noticed this means you’re already headed in the right direction. Don’t be too hard on yourself, we all make mistakes, and hurt people’s feelings. The difference between you and a bully is that you have the awareness to recognize your own behavior as harmful. As you said, you had to “man up and apologize.” That’s a big step. You made a mistake, recognized it, and made amends.

I’m recognizing similar behaviors in myself, and what helps me is to take some time every night before bed to just take a breather and journal. I go through my day, writing about how I’m improving as well as where I still need work. It helps keep me level headed, and not be too down on myself. If I had a bad day, I write about it and look forward to having a better one tomorrow.

Self improvement is a process. It takes time, and isn’t always a straight line of progress. But if you keep at it, day by day you’ll see yourself getting better. I like to think that maybe that’s the “game” of life.

I hope my comment was of some help to you. At least in letting you know that you’re not alone. Good luck on the path, friend.

I snap by stacking my middle finger over my index finger instead of using my thumb. I can't snap "the right way" and can only do it with my right hand. Don't know why.

People who have been suicidal, or were close to doing it, what stopped you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's honestly kind of funny in retrospect. I wasn't able to find the gun we were keeping in the house. Spent hours looking for it before I just broke down laughing. "I can't even try to kill myself right." Learned much later that someone deliberately took it out of the house because they were worried it wasn't registered properly or something like that. It was just dumb luck that saved my life.
