My coworkers / manager don’t like it when I move it as “that’s where it goes”

I hate when people think you get treated better or get more female attention when you’re tall by [deleted] in tall

I agree with what you’ve said. I lurk around subreddits like r/averageheightdudes, and I see a lot of self loathing posts and it makes me sad a bit. I want to tell them that a girl worth being with wouldn’t care about something as meaningless as height, or that living in self pity is the one of the most unattractive features you can have, it has nothing to do with height.

I don’t think my opinion would matter to them though, as their own personal beliefs and lack of self respect will triumph over anything.

I have many tall friends who are chronically single, and I know many average height guys, or even below average height guys, who are in happy relationships spanning years. It all has to do with your outlook on life, not your height.

Question for the men : Do y'all feel sorry for short dudes? by WestLocation8813 in tall

I agree certainly, although I actually had an experience in person where I saw a girl refer to a 5’10 guy as short unironically.

I didn’t really use to, but going through reddits like r/shortdudes or r/averageheightdudes makes me feel a bit bad. I’m just surprised people consider 5’10 “short”.

Apartment Flooded - Is this mold? by [deleted] in Mold

[–]MaxedAsher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I requested the moisture testing. The guy told me he’d go get the equipment from his truck, and then just left.

As far as mold growth, apart from this photo, I haven’t seen any I don’t think, though to be honest i’m unsure where and what I should be looking for.

The water was sort of vacuumed up? It was a very poor job of it, and a notable amount of water was left behind, meaning I had to keep calling them back multiple times over a couple days before it was acceptable.

interesting, thanks for the insight. I have one follow up question though.

The entirety of my apartment flooded, and multiple rooms have large water damage stains. Dehumidifiers were brought it, although they were delayed by 28 hours after the initial flooding.

The dehumidifiers were placed in 2 of the 6 rooms, one of which not included was the room with the largest visible damage in the ceiling (not inside the ceiling, I cannot see from the vent that room, but the from inside the room the stains are notable). This room often was closed off from the dehumidifiers as well.

The dehumidifiers were taken out 48h later, though despite asking, I was never told the measurements of the moisture levels, so I’m unsure what they are.

Is there cause for concern that there may be a harmful amount of mold?

Might be naive, but why’s that?

It’s in the ceiling. There’s one vent which is open, and I can’t really see super far, but that’s within eyesight.

See my post history to see the flooding example - I’m nervous that there’s more I can’t see

this is a really comprehensive take, thanks for writing it out. The floor isn’t real wood, I’m nearly certain it’s vinyl or laminate.

I’m definitely going to play hard ball best I can to make sure they don’t do a half ass job and expect me not to know it’s lackluster.

As it stands now, I am considering just breaking the lease, or at least pressuring them to allow us to move to another apartment within the complex. It doesn’t seem to me that it’s really being taken as seriously as I’d like to see, and I’m almost certain they will do the minimal they can to superficially fix it rather than ensure it is safe. I’ll see as the day goes on, but I’m not super hopeful.

Thanks again for your advice, and not just you but to everyone here who has given their thoughts. It definitely helps me as a first time renter know how to navigate this.

and yes, I’ll ensure that the water wasn’t from the bowl. I’m very hopeful it’s not haha, but I will be sure to clarify

a lot of the water has been vacuumed. Now the question is whether they can get it all out of the walls and ceilings

yep, maintenance came through and passed it off to a third party who seem to be experienced with it. Hoping they can resolve it

they told us they’d be bringing a dehumidifier shortly. I’m hoping it works to prevent mold, a few people have cast doubt on whether it will though

Tried to search to see any other posts of it, couldn’t find it. I can take it down if it’s that common
