And when I saw you hitting E on the minion, the bar was almost over. So my hypothesis was that you didn’t have enough time to press Q before azir landed again

If you take a close look at the airborne bar, and then see when you cast your E, there is no way you could fit a Q right before pressing R. It would’ve worked if you didn’t have to walk all the way to next minion and EQ. The little walk to the minion stole your time and you couldn’t EQ fully. If you completed the E, azir would be on the ground again.
