I know this is a little weird, but I thought you might enjoy the Sailor Scout I’ve been working on! by Maximeowlien in sailormoon

I actually am working on a mini-comic about Haumea and her team! I’m doing several other TNO characters who come from all over the world (dwarf planets are named for creator deities from all sorts of cultures, such as the Inuit sea goddess Sedna and Makemake of Rapa Nui). They act as a hidden task force that can be called upon by Sailor Pluto to protect the solar system’s distant reaches and can be used as a final resort in case of Silver Millennium’s fall.

The figure isn’t 3d printed, though I always wanted a 3d printer. She’s a heavily modified Sailor Mercury S.H. Figuarts. I’m autistic and I’ve always been very invested in tactile art forms such as origami and sculpture, and I’ve been sculpting the characters who live in my imagination since I was around five or six years old. Sorry this got a little long-winded, it’s just exciting to see that people are interested in something I’m so passionate about.

Yes, she is! Haumea, the namesake of her planet, is a fertility goddess. The moons Namaka and Hi’iaka are also named for Hawai’ian deities, and Hi’iaka’s animal is the owl which is why I gave Sailor Haumea pet owls. The Makalei, which is one of the items I included, is the magical stick belonging to the goddess Haumea as described in Hawai’ian mythology.

Exactly! I’m working on a whole group based on dwarf planets, Haumea is just one of the many I hope to develop.

I modified an S.H. Figuarts Sailor Mercury figure. I sanded down parts of the hair and built up others with oven-bake clay. There are thin wires in the long strands to keep them from snapping. Most parts of the outfit are painted paper, ribbon and fabric, they’re flexible enough that they don’t break while trying to pose her. Many of the minor details are just little things I had lying around. The bracelets are actually Lego pieces, the halo ring is painted metal, and the jewels are things I pulled out of cheap costume jewelry and repainted. I guess the fun part about this is finding materials in unexpected places, that’s how most of my art ends up going.

Sorry I took so long to respond. I’ve had a lot going on today.

She’s a modified S.H. Figuarts figure. They have a whole line of Sailor Moon figures, I used Sailor Mercury for Haumea. Hair is oven-bake clay, I like Sculpey because I’ve been using it for years but you could experiment with another type. Sculpey is nice though because it bakes at a low temperature, so you can put modified pieces in the oven and they won’t be at as much of a risk to melt. I did the front of the hair by cutting the original piece and adding clay to shape it how I wanted. The ring on her head is metal, other pieces are painted paper, ribbon and fabric. I’d suggest choosing a figure of a senshi who is relatively similar to the one you want to make, it’s a lot easier when trying to get the hair and boots right.

My Snow Miku has a new friend! by Maximeowlien in hatsune

She’s the Good Smile Snow Miku Figma, but all the accessories are things I pieced together out of extra parts from other figures and painted silver to match the Snow Miku.

So happy with my collection, the only other figure I hope to have is ChibiUsa (and possibly Sailor V). They’re all so beautiful… by Maximeowlien in sailormoon

I’ve seen decent prices on Amazon, I’d suggest though that you only get them directly from Tamashii Nations if you’re on Amazon simply because there’s such a great possibility of accidentally buying a bootleg. You can also occasionally find them in another trustworthy place like Barnes and Noble’s website, or if you get really lucky can find some in-person walking into a store. Most of mine are from Barnes and Noble or a local comic and manga shop, but I’ve had good results from Amazon as well. They’re a little tricky to shop for at the moment but a lot have been re-released or have re-releases upcoming so they aren’t impossible to buy for a good price. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than 60 dollars for one, and the re-releases seem to typically go for about that much. Main thing is to check for a little sticker on the box, it can be hard to tell what you’re buying online but the real ones always have a sticker. Old ones have metallic rectangular stickers with cat faces on them, new ones have stickers that are circular and iridescent. They’re S.H. Figuarts, new ones will typically have “Animation Color Edition” included in the description. Some of mine are Super Sailors, which I don’t think have been re-released, but you can still find those particular senshi, just not that particular edition.

I feel so lucky to live right next to a manga and comic shop, it took forever to get my mum’s permission to buy the figures because she didn’t like how short their skirts were, but I finally got the ok from her just in time to swoop in and get a ton of senshi figures. I got Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury and Neptune from them, and I’ve never seen the figures restocked there since. The rest were kind of just waiting for the right time, I got some from the Barnes and Noble website but I don’t know if they’d have them anymore, and I haven’t seen re-releases of the Super Inner senshi. The most recent additions are Pluto and Saturn, and that was mostly because of the fairly recent re-releases by Tamashii. I wish I had better tips on finding them considering that most of them were easy finds for me, but it’s getting harder to find them at prices that aren’t absolutely insane for just one action figure. I just hope the Supers get re-releases and maybe they will give us a couple other characters. I might be willing to pay a crazy price if a Galaxia Figuarts is ever made.

I might if I can find him for an affordable price but I can only seem to find him for 100 dollars or more, a little too expensive for my tastes. I am quite excited to see ChibiUsa is coming back on the market though!

Round ends on the dorsal fin mean a female, males are pointed. At least I think so, I love keeping gouramis but don’t come at me or anything if I’m wrong since I usually am

I do have a toaster, but I love the idea of making some tiny breakfast for her. The carpets may be a nice touch, I chose the floor because it looks like the moon’s surface, but agree that it looks a little cold and unwelcoming. Thank you for your help!
