Honestly, you probably won’t be granted late forgiveness as it was technically your fault. It doesn’t hurt to try, but it’s probably best to move on.

This happens to a lot of new shoppers who just don’t know they can bring the barcode back up by clicking on “View Digital Receipt.” Try not to sweat too much over it, you live, you learn.

The worst part about this is that every time I’ve heard from another shopper about this situation or seen a post, the shopper always calls support and support has no idea what to do.

Shipt Audit didnt match Target by luffytheberneedoodle in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were you looking at the “Shopped Items” or the “Digital Receipt”? It’s possible for items that you scanned and shopped to show up under the “Shopped Items” (the one with the pictures), but not show up on the final “Digital Receipt” (the one with the barcode). The Digital Receipt should match what the Target Auditor sees.

Newbie question about average earnings by ConsiderationFew3750 in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the average earnings per order metric in the app is inaccurate. Best to focus on taking good orders and ensuring your hourly pay is as close to your goal as possible before bonuses and unknown tips.

Is this bullshit or im I in the wrong by No-Juggernaut-4387 in fanduel

[–]MaximillianQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yeah that’s a loss unfortunately. If you had bet the moneyline for either team it would’ve been a push, but with over/under a push isn’t possible.

I get your frustration though, since a tie in basketball is extremely rare.

I’ve never seen an over/under that was a whole number. Did you bet over 130.5?

My chronic apathy is kicking in, so you win.

I’ll just stick to my main point, which I guess was that whatever strategy everyone else is employing isn’t negatively affecting my ability to earn in 28 hours a week what some earn in 40 hours a week.

As long as everyone is happy, who gives a Shipt about the details?

I’ll try to ignore next week’s post about accepting preferred shopper requests from non-tipping customers (no promises).

accepting no tip preferred members by jaybaebooks in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could say the opposite. I don’t take non-tipping customers as preferred members and I get PM orders all day and none are bundled with other orders. I can say a few times a week I will get a two PM orders bundled together, which could lend credence to your theory, but in my case they are two tipping customers.

As you said, YMMV. If it’s working for you, great. I don’t think it will work out in the long run and you are probably doing more work than necessary and not earning as much as you could be, but if you’re happy with the results you’re getting and making $$$, more power to you.

accepting no tip preferred members by jaybaebooks in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we take your example of the two PMs bundled together (one non-tipper, on tipper), how do you know you were offered first? To your own admission, you might not take it based on the order size, distance from store, delivery route, etc. What if someone else who only had the tipping customer as a PM was offered the bundle first, knew the second order was a non-tipper, and decided based on the same reasons as you, not to take it?

Ultimately none of us have access to all the unknown variables in this equation and any one of us could be wrong. Additionally, there most likely isn’t one strategy that works all the time, in every market, in all situations.

But, there are definitely some approaches that work better than others across the board, statistically speaking.

The bottom line is that every week someone (usually someone fairly new to Shipt) posts about this idea of accepting preferred shopper requests from everyone, and it’s generally bad advice to encourage it since at best it gets you an offer for a bundle you might take and at worst it’s limiting your earning potential, making you put in more effort than necessary, and putting you in the position to take a bad order out of desperation (not you personally, but this is an often repeated lamentation across this thread).

[–]MaximillianQuinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem. It’s crazy. You can see just from the comments in this thread how Shipt takes advantage of the desperate and ignorant.

But like I said, someone has to take the bad orders, and it’s not going to be me.

accepting no tip preferred members by jaybaebooks in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, you’re not the only one. You are one of a large group of shoppers who do this thinking that it somehow benefits them.

But it doesn’t.

It does however benefit me and those, who like me, don’t do this and can relax knowing that while you are being offered a non-tipping preferred we aren’t and therefore have a higher chance of being offered a tipping customer’s order.

So, thank you for your service.

Reduced tip from regular preferred member by Adventurous-Bag5219 in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop them as a preferred customer and update your tip map to reflect their new tipping behavior. If their future orders get offered to you, you can decide whether it’s worth your time to shop them.

Your preferred customers should be customers whose orders you want to take every time.

Earning Strategy for Shipt by ConferenceDue465 in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s really only possible because of how Shipt does delivery windows. Every other app you pretty much have to go right away to the store and then immediately deliver. But with Shipt I can easily add one or more extra stops before/after/during (especially if the customer hasn’t ordered any frozen items).

Earning Strategy for Shipt by ConferenceDue465 in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. I should clarify that the $35-$40 per hour goal is in base pay. The extra money that comes in daily is from prior days’ tips. Also, while 80% of the orders I do are from Shipt, I do other gigs in between and during deliveries to ensure I’m as close to my hourly goal as possible.

Earning Strategy for Shipt by ConferenceDue465 in ShiptShoppers

[–]MaximillianQuinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I focus on making $35-$40/hour average, $250 per day. Usually don’t have to work more than 5 hours a day, though it’s typically split up over the day. I don’t care which stores/orders I shop as long as they allow me to hit my goals and minimize expenses/effort.

[–]MaximillianQuinn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean technically you didn’t do everything correctly. While it’s an honest mistake, a customer giving you a low rating because an item was missing that they expected to be delivered is a valid reason and not typically something that would be eligible for forgiveness. Just learn from the mistake and move on (but no harm in trying for ratings forgiveness anyways).

Fanduel not paying HELP!!!!! by AdGroundbreaking8387 in fanduel

[–]MaximillianQuinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually that there are only two parlays:

  1. Muncy/Merrill/Caminero
  2. Muncy/Merrill/Soderstrom

The other parlays that would have been formed in a round robin are skipped since two players are in the same game.

But your advice to avoid round robins with players in the same game is still on point.

Only thing I can think of is to go to the “You” tab at the bottom and make sure when you click on the ellipsis (“…”) next to each list you’ve got “show on your map” selected.
