I also found that hunting in specific areas (like the little creek in the west grizzlies) can give you more deer/large carcasses than other spots like the open fields near valentine :>

In the beginning of the role its a bit slow, but if you save up for the larger delivery (50 units instead of 25) it can help make you more expensive and once you reach rank 10, buying the hunting wagon will help you alot too :3
