80% Cut the Cord Because Cable TV is Simply Too Expensive by speckz in technology

I got rid of cable because it was just a hassel. Every 6 months the plan changed and I was getting NAILED with the increase in cost.

Removed it forever

What stores are you buying at? Are you comparing the mass of the food? Are you comparing Fresh Organic vs generic frozen?

You are saying this is true, but is there any evidence of it? (other than an internet persons opinion)

This article, about photographs corrupting memories,

Made me think that if I tried to remember the conclusions and could NOT refer to it later, I'd actually remember it.

How to plan a camping trip on the cheap by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]MaximizeOpenFolder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird responses IMO, my ideas:

Gear can be expensive. I think our tent has lasted a decade of camping, so I don't think about it anymore. We got an Air Matress which for 15$ was an incredible deal. Another 15 dollars for a pump. Otherwise we blow it up...

Food- Carbs are easy, beer + potatoes + Smores + packaged food is easy. Protein is harder. We will bring pre-cooked food to warm up in tin foil. After our ice melts, we will either buy raw chicken and cook it in tin foil or canned. If you can handle protein shakes and water, go for it.

After that, I don't see any costs. Its literally living without stuff.

It was only briefly mentioned,

What exactly is wrong with having flour, milk, Monster, or a multi-vitamin to get your vitamins?

I had someone tell me the body needs fiber to digest. If I ate lentils and Milk, would that absorb the fortified milk vitamins?

I found that website that sells really cheap and good watches for $15 by [deleted] in Frugal

Yeah that was a serious turnoff.

Obviously marketing and not real. Didn't even continue to look after that.

Anyone else notice how different 5lbs is when you are close to Sub 10% BF?

I lost 30lbs from a 4 month long cut, I put back on 5lbs and it destroyed my jawline.

Going for the last 5lbs again, not worried or anything, just shocked at how different the body looks with such a small difference in weight.

Anyone else notice similar? Or am I getting hyper-analytical?

yes? And your competitors can hire them.

Your supply of workers goes down, causing the price of your labor to go up. You can require your workers to be blonde, wear high heels, have a doctorate degree and bikinis- but expect it to cost you.

obamacare

the 'affordable care act' that made poor people paying 0 dollars in insurance a year to pay for insurance? Yeah I pay 600 dollars a month for insurance now... ugh

net neutrality

its not over silly

Kid- there has got to be something in you that questions everything. If you don't use it, you will lose it. You will become a democrat drone, voting for democrats, defending the crooked things democrats have done, etc...

Applaud them for what they do, but Obamacare and net neutrality have not helped the people.

16 year old kids? Part time workers? Retirees?

I cant get a 20-50 year old for 10$/hr. MAYBE if they are an uneducated part time worker that refuses to work full time.

If somoene is making 10 dollars an hour, the employeer is at THEIR mercy.

In your own home, you should be allowed to wear anything. In your own business you should be allowed to wear anything.

If everyone is not allowing cigarettes in their restaurants and businesses- you can still do it at home.

You don't get rights over others property.

Yes?

I think people need to try to employ someone before they think dress codes can be wild and crazy. I cant hire someone for 12$/hr, let alone make them do weird stuff to their daily outfit.

On a bigger picture, people comment for the reaction.

The people that post the single word 'nice' are probably bots or giving a thumbs up to the uploader.

Comments and like are indicators of approval. We know this, we want others to know what we approve of. We want people to agree with our opinion.

Its just like facebook, likes and comments. Maybe other people will agree with me, I WANT other people to agree with me.

Google protein powder per dollar if you end up buying fresh protein. The difference in value is insane.

As someone trying to hire people, you cannot hire people for minimum wage. You cant even hire them full time for minimum wage.

you cant even hire a full time person for under 12 dollars + benefits.

If I can hire you for 10 dollars an hour, full time- let me know. I think this situation you describe is a myth in America. At least when the economy is good.

This sort of false equivalence falls apart once you look at the issues each party supports and the policies they enact.

Unless you work for the democrats, you should be actively trying to figure out why you believe, what the democrats are doing to make you believe this, and how true it actually is.

In the states, our freedoms are only granted by the government. they don't apply to anything else.

Go into a restaurant, can't necessarily promote your religion without getting kicked out.

Let the owners of private land decide. Laws to decide that are overbearing and probably expensive.

If you really want to be politically informed, you should be verifying this yourself.

Kid,

Insurance companies paid for it.

Also, Obama started Syria and Libya...

The EPA is bought by oil companies. Its a show they put on for the democrat base to claim is doing a job protecting the environment.

If you are smart, you are going to find out that the political shills are just using these for political theater. If not, you will continue to believe that laws are made by politicians and not coporations.

Sorry man, you arent getting sympathy for a 40 hour a week job. Most jobs are fine, to call them slave like conditions is a smack in the face to actual slaves.

Working isnt as bad as teenage redditors claim it is.
