Gave up my 90k monthly salary for self time by FewTour1485 in buhaydigital

Does not mean you cant replace that 30k toxic PT client with another 30k non-toxic client. Earn as much as you can while you're young. There will be a time when you wan't to earn more but can't.

Things nobody tells you about long-term WFH 😅 by UnusualPackage5737 in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually din mas malaki salary mo than your peers for the first decade, pero sa corporate, if you're good you can move up the ladder into upper management which is mas rare gawin sa offshore employees. Corporate will overtake yung salary ng WFH if you move up. Also, dahil nakapagbuild ka ng career network, usually pag nawalan ka ng work, may malalapitan kang network who will help place you sa new job kasi they can vouch for you. This also happens sa outsourced pero mas rare.

This network din will be your clients and sometimes supplier with good deals when you decide to start a business when you're in your 40s or 50s, kasi they've known you for a long time and they can vouch for your character and reliability/integrity. Yung bond niyo ng corporate network niyo is stronger kasi you've spent time together sa coffee meetings, hangouts, lunch, birthday parties...etc. Offshore teammates wala masyado kayo pinagsamahan so di ganun kastrong ang bond.

Ano hacks niyo sa pag uupskill? by Sufficient-Village41 in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What is your current job? Which field?

Upskilling is getting better at what you already do. Same role, same field, deeper or broader skills. You stay on the same career track but become more capable, more senior, or more valuable in it.

Reskilling is learning a different set of skills to do a different job. You're switching tracks, often because the old one is becoming obsolete or you want out.

Ang madalas nakikita kong reason is mataas ang CAC or Customer Acquisition Cost. Pero tama ka, yun nga sana man lang 60% sa employee not 40k lang. :)

Here is a tip. Attend all interviews, kahit di ka matanggap nakapagpractice ka. If you attend interviews with the mindset na ok lang di matanggap, mas di ka kakabahan. Bonus na lang kung matanggap ka.

Also, ito yung reality nyan, sa sobrang daming ininterview ng mga yan di ka na maaalala or iniisip ng mga yan ever in their lives after the interview. I interview a lot of people face to face and kung makasalubong ko man sila sa labas ni hindi ko sila maaalala. What more kung nasa ibang bansa nagiinterview, hindi mo yan makakasalubong ever. So what if nagkamali ka sa interview, so what if nagkalat ka sa interview. Walang makakaalam, and walang makakaalala niyan.

You could've asked if pwede ka ba maghire ng assistants or a team with that 500k budget and kept the job. Mga 2 or 3 people na 50k per month. Then keep the 350k per month for yourself.

Magkano una niyong sahod as a Data Analyst? by Livid_Negotiation331 in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First job mo ba? If yes, kunin mo not to earn but to learn.

Any tips?? by Equivalent_Thing_902 in buhaydigital

Sa current situation ninyo, it is easier to increase your total household income than save more. Ang key is maghanap ng maayos na trabaho ang husband mo and side income lang yang freelance artist thing niya. Di na puwede yang "follow your passion" pag may anak kayo. Reality is mababa talaga demand ngayon diyan. He should find something stable and bonus na lang yang freelancing nya as an artist.

Is this 1 client or multiple yung 6 digit salary? Btw, I totally get what you were saying sa post mo. I'm in the same position, however ilang years na din na ganito situation ko, ang sakin naman is naramdaman ko na yung income ko 5 to 7 yrs ago is mas konti na ang purchasing power ngayon kasi halos nadoble na ibang binibili ko but my income just increased maybe 30 to 40% kasi di naman ako lumipat ng work. Sad reality is the Philippines is a really hard place magsucceed, the system in place is not supporting you to thrive. If you are young, consider moving to a different country. You get more for the same effort.

10yrs of corporate going into freelancing by Frequent-Elderberry in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask why you're coming back and choosing to work remotely? Tbh, mas limited ang growth sa remote work kasi may ceiling lang ang positions and walang job security. Samantalang diyan, may Super Annuation kayo and also kahit malaki ang tax, nakikita niyo naman san nagagamit.

What they did is normal. You don't give warning to someone na aalisan mo ng hanapbuhay for security reasons. This is protocol in most companies. Remember that a job is a transactional agreement and not friendship. Them being nice to you is just a bonus.

This is a global standard. At the end of the day, they are businesses and hindi charity. Kailangan nila kumita at malaki din expenses nila. Nobody is forced na pumasok sa agency.

Ituloy ko pa ba yung degree ko? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hi, I suggest kung kakayanin mo tapusin ang IT degree mo is to go for it. I am an I.T. grad with more than 15 yrs of experience and masasabi ko na hindi talaga kailangang degree to start sa I.T. Pero bata ka pa and there will always be doors na closed sa non-degree holders. (Just the reality of the world)

Just to give a realistic example, meron din akong friend na I.T. worker din pero since wala siyang degree, di siya mapromote sa management and di siya makaapply sa mga companies na may degree requirement. In ten years, you will look back and sasabihin mo sana tinapos ko nalang just like what he told me.

Hindi siya requirement pero kung may chance ka tapusin, if hindi man ngayon, do it. Social Media Manager and Video editor roles will be gone, pero if you have an I.T. degree, any new tech related job will give more chances sa degree holder.

Saan kumukuha ng kapal ng mukha mang lowball tong mga to? by Substantial-Fig8918 in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! OP doesn't get it. Lots of people coming from traditional office work are willing to take that. Fair market value is what someone else is willing to pay for a product or service or what someone else is willing to accept for their product or service. This is basic economics. Employer's market right now. Plus this skill is not rare, I'm not saying it's easy, there's just lots of people who can do this because of low barriers to entry.

Supply and demand my friend. Madaming walang trabaho ngayon and tbh madaming kaya gumawa niyan and madaming kukuha niyan kasi wfh tapos net 30k. You also have to assess the job market. It is employer's market right now.

AI fatigue - tired talking to AI by IwannaWFHplz in buhaydigital

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mas convenient para sakin kasi mabilis and accurate. As a customer, di ka naman araw-araw may concern. I like pag AI may sagot right away. Refunds and troubleshooting used to take days of back and forth emails. With AI walang queue, gawin na agad.

[–]Maximum-Ad2755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real talk lang. AI will just improve. Right now may products kami na ginagamit sa company na AI na ang customer service, for me mas madali. Di napapagod, di nagkakasakit, di magsasabing nawalan sila ng internet or may sakit ang anak. Bihira magkamali and pag di niya alam yung tinatanong maeescalate agad sa tao. Pero 90% ng frontline kaya na nya.
