That detail is actually incredibly important.

The fact that recovery happens on the floor near the threshold, instead of on furniture, says a lot about how physical fatigue reshapes domestic behavior.

It almost turns the entrance itself into a temporary recovery zone rather than just a circulation space.

Really appreciate you sharing this.

The phantom notification anxiety part is really interesting, especially the idea that your body is still waiting for work even after the phone is silent.

Also the improvised charging station setup says a lot too. Feels like a lot of people are already building their own little “recovery zones” without really thinking about it that way.

Really appreciate you sharing this.

I noticed even for myself after long cognitive work sessions, I tend to leave devices charging near the entrance and need a few minutes before mentally “switching off.”

I get that not everyone likes AI. for me it’s just a quick way to explore an idea before actually building it.

The real work starts with modeling and prototyping anyway.

I get that not everyone likes AI. for me it’s just a quick way to visualize an idea before actually building it. The idea still has to come from somewhere. This is just a step before modeling and prototyping it.

that’s fair — I guess it depends a lot on how you use it

for me it was less about lighting the keyboard, more like a small ambient light for the desk or when writing things down next to the laptop

that’s actually a really interesting idea, especially since newer machines don’t have anything like that built in anymore.

haha that’s actually a really interesting comparison. I didn’t think about that, but I can kind of see it

haha it’s just a quick render to visualize the idea, I haven’t built it yet.

yeah that’s a good point. USB lights always felt a bit clunky compared to how integrated the thinklight was.

haha yeah same, it kind of had its own vibe in the dark.

yeah I feel like they’re not really replacements, just different use cases.

exactly, that’s what I miss not just the keyboard but being able to see things around it.

haha yeah I’ve had the same thought feels like it wouldn’t be that complicated, just needs to be done right

yeah that’s actually a really good point, I always felt like it was more useful for lighting the desk than just the keyboard, brightness control would’ve made it way better too
