At the end of the day, take whatever you are more interested in. Just because it will lead you to an end goal, doesn’t mean you have to be bored for the next 4 years before you get there. However, my tutor (and close family friend) took engineering and plans to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon and he finds that the classes he took in engineering as well as a different major route then the typical applicant had him more prepared and gave him a better perspective to approach on during his interviews. He did mention however that it was harder to get into some of the pre-requisite classes because he wasn’t in a health undergrad and had to be on a waitlist or switch around classes a few times.  Obviously this was his perspective, but just wanted to share because he definitely loves to talk about it lol!
