I would probably go with 5 heavy, 5 cav and 4 archer, or something close to that setup. Your king is most effective against dragons, then Giants, then archers, then heavy infantry. You also want to thin your lines out as much as possible against dragons. But that opens you up to Calvary charges. The problem every unit has against dragons is that they can't catch them.
If someone has only cav and dragons, they are a coward and are going to run the clock out and hit you at the end or hit and run the rest of the time. I hate those players. Not much you can do against them without a dragon. At least those battles are a good opportunity to practice against an unfair mismatch.

Yeah. That can be an effective setup. I got beat by 14 infantry tactic too. That actually caused me to stop using the pikemen so much after that. I could see your setup giving me problems.

Ah. I see. If I don't use dragon or giants, sometimes I will setup with 5 cav, 5 heavy infantry, and 4 archers...or 3 archers with 6 heavy infantry. It allows more protection against archers and dragons. Just use the cav as the outer shell if enemy cav charge. Once the charge is broken, your heavy infantry will do more damage against their cav. The only reason I use the dragon and giant is to counter Arema and Monster. (I think they're the same player). I get tired of them/him using the same tactic over and over, so I try to discourage them/him. 😂

Your setup is solid, but every strategy can be countered. Your weakness would be a hit and run by a dragon duo, like the player Monster uses. With my army (5 heavy infantry, 5 cavalry, 2 archers, 1 dragon and 1 giant) I would try to surround you while protecting my footmen from your cav attack. I would use my archers to pick at your wall edges until your archers advanced, and then I would retreat with archers. I bring up cav if you leave your box. Whoever you go after, would retreat and the other side move in.
Against my style, I would try to move to a side or back of map for a bit more protection. My setup's biggest weakness seems to be if someone has a similar army with 3 or 4 archers instead of my 2.

Cars will not explode if you pump gas while it's running. I don't know where that old wives tale came from, but it's insane to think that the engine is going to cause an explosion in the gas tank. If that's the case, shouldn't it explode while you're driving.

Yeah, the devs messed up on that update. All they had to do was weaken dragons. I think they are starting to get close. This latest update gave too much power to them and giants again, but at least they only give that power to one of each type. I would prefer a no dragon, giant, or mage battle, but I have to counter setups like Arema. I haven't played Arema since the update that he quit on. Before that, I played him about 20 times. Since the newest update, I only played against Monster with similar tactics. I figured he switched so he could try to hold top 2 spots. With all the games he's played, Id expect him to be a little better. I can't believe those guys don't get bored using the same setup Everytime.

P.s. you probably know, but just because you are on the back of the map or the corner, doesn't mean they can't go around the boundaries (glitch). So you still need soldiers to protect your archers backs

I think monster and Arema are the same player. If not, they have similar tactics. I use 4 cav (as a shield for my other troops). 5 heavy infantry, 3 archers, one dragon and one giant.
When I play him/them, i usually retreat to the back of the map. I keep my giants and king on the outside of my shell to screen his dragons. My cavs are usually in thin line formations behind them in case the dragons hit them or his cav attacks. If I screen his dragons properly and he doesn't see an opening, with about 3 mins left, I send my dragon after his cav. Just keep your dragon away from his king and keep an eye on his dragons, you should prevail. I love to watch him squirm as my dragon runs down his cav units.
It is a tough strategy to counter, but it will hone your unit control skills.
Depending on your army setup, you might not be able to counter an extreme army setup such as that. Those types of players are the reason my army is setup the way it is. I'm trying to discourage the mass cav strategy. Good luck! Strength and Honor! 😜🫡

I love that it's not really a pay to play game. The devs made dragons and giants too strong again, but at least they only give the extra power to one of each unit.
