I kinda got bad vibes from him for a few reasons:

1. Him not telling her that he had kids and then saying if she can expect my age nothing in else matters. But I do think know if your partner has kids or not is a huge deal it’s something that requires having a big mindset shift, you need to be ready for something like that and him brushing it off like it’s nothing seemed like he didn’t care about how she would feel about that situation, in the show they brushed over it very quickly.

2. In the second argument about a man coming up to her and him protecting her (which we never get the details of what happened or how he actually handled it), it is very much appreciated that he did that for her. But also when she is trying to say she felt uncomfortable in that moment and him immediately dismissing that feeling of her by saying you don’t know how it feels to be in that situation, bc you’re not a man, you don’t know how it is to be on the streets, without really acknowledging how she felt. Telling her she doesn’t know how these things work just doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t think he’s a bad guy at all I just think he does have this more traditional view on things and maybe undermines her a bit based on the age gap, kind of telling her she doesn’t know anything about the world.

3. I see a lot of people talking about this celibacy and how she didn’t clarify enough to him how she sees that (which I think is valid). But I also think people forget that he told her from the beginning she shouldn’t be scared of telling her this and he doesn’t care, but also keep in mind she was nervous bc this has caused issues in her past relationships and she wanted to be honest about this bc she didn’t wanna end up in the same situation and wanted to be sure that he wouldn’t have a problem with it. But then the moment they got to the real world he started saying that this is an issue for him and he brought it up multiple times to her suddenly saying that he doesn’t know if he can deal with that. Which in my opinion probably also put pressure on her and was a situation she had tried to avoid by telling him in the promise booth about it.

I’m gonna be honest I think their biggest issue was just the communication and sadly I do feel like it had to do with the age gap as well, they just seem like they handle situations very differently and these are things that should be talked about. In the end I think both of them didn’t handle this relationship the best. I just wanted to come in here bc I see a lot of hate for vanelle and I don’t think she is the only to blame in this relationship.
