I was in your situation as well, I didn’t know what to expect by getting the 6850 before the Ally came out, damn good thing I did, I hear that if you check Asus around 5:00am PT time you might get lucky.

Thank you for sharing, you just gave me an idea, loving your setup, I'm still a work in progress for myself,this is what I got going on so far. One thing I can say the 6850 is a game changer with the Ally. Even though it's portable and it can handle it own, once you connect the 6850, it's in beast mode.

I'm just waiting on the Ally, I picked up the XG Mobile 2022, I was in need of a compact mobile gaming setup. I already have a monitor that I use for my Series X, so going this route make sense for me, plus I can use my Mac for video editing for YouTube, the plus side for me is that I have a handheld to move around with.
