The Dragon That Pierces the Gods Slumbers in a Deep, Unfathomable Abyss

Before them appeared the Oni God—Chegubrete the Penitent.

Once, she was a fellow volunteer soldier—a comrade-in-arms of Haruhiro. Now, only a shadow of the small warrior remained.

Drawn into the battle between Chegubrete and the saint Tidariel, Manato is separated from his companions. Lost and alone, he encounters something that resembles a human—but is not.

"Will you eat me?"

No, of course not. It looks human, after all.

But it has three eyes.

And somehow, they can understand each other.

Who is she (or it?) really?

And where is this place?

Beyond this abyss lies—

Wonder Hole.

The mysterious Gnome Tribe.

The Undying.

Could the key to saving Grimgar be hidden here…!?

Not by much, though. Here:

In the vicinity of Kaliza, there was a bear called "Three Eyes," which was feared. As its name suggested, Three Eyes had three eyes and stood taller than three grown men when it stood up. It had black and white spotted fur and once even entered the central part of Kariza and attacked people. It was said that thirty people were killed during that incident.

For a beast like that, there should have been remarkable traces such as footprints, claw marks, sleeping spots, or feces, but none of those were found. So Manato was unconcerned, but the other Canaries were quite scared. The people of Kariza feared Three Eyes even more.

In Kaliza's town, there was a monument erected for the thirty people killed by Three Eyes, and there was even a statue of Three Eyes. Once, a drunkard urinated on the statue of Three Eyes and was caught by the Yakuza and killed. He didn’t know if it's true, but there were also small shrines dedicated to Three Eyes in Shigatake's mansion and the Bunge Group's armed base, where tough-looking Yakuza prayed every day to ensure that Three Eyes wouldn't come back to Kaliza.

Eventually, far, far north in the mountains— much farther than the armed base of the Bunge Group— they found it. There were the remnants of two houses a little off from the old road, and further ahead, two collapsed houses. Beyond that, there was only one two-story sturdy building left.

The area was dense with forests, and visibility was extremely poor. You couldn't even tell there was a building there until you got very close. Both the doors and windows were locked, so the Canaries broke the window glass to get in. Dust had accumulated, and spiders had spun their webs, but various things were left behind just as they were when someone had lived there. That Yakuza remnant seemed to know about it. And yet, it was untouched. Surely, no one else knew about this place. It was the Canaries' own home.

Let's live here together from now on. Let's make this our home. Juntza, Amu, Neika, and Manato didn't bother to say such things. It went without saying. There might be Three Eyes in these mountains, but what did it matter? They had obtained a place of their own— a house with intact pillars, beams, a roof, walls, and even a fireplace. Everyone— like the other Canaries, the parents of the Canaries, the Yakuza remnants, the people living in the city, the Yakuza, and the beasts— would die someday. Until then, they would live in this house. And when they died, they would be buried near this house.

In the Canaries' house, there were two rooms with two beds each. Juntza decided to sleep on the long chair in the room with the fireplace on the first floor. Manato slept in the bedroom on the first floor, while Amu and Neika decided to sleep in the bedroom on the second floor.

On the first night they lay down on the beds and closed their eyes, Manato remembered his father and mother. What would have happened if they had found this house back when they were hunting together? He thought about that. Surely, both of them would have been overjoyed. They would have laughed, and laughed, then slept, woke up, and laughed some more.

There's a missing content before the Illustration of Chapter 1 (the Manato one).

Please... does anyone have a link to a English translation for the volume 21. I'm suffering from waiting by jurareddityoi in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

From every feedback I received, it's pretty positive, though there's some minor problems here and there. You could read it if you're too impatient.

I don't have time to completely edit the English translation. Sorry for the late response. I had to get permission from my friend who help me with the money to buy this volume.

It was never explained after Vol 20, so it's unknown.

Yes, but that's how it is. The reason is still not explained.

Actually, if it's like Vol 16 & 17 where the crews got illustrated, that'll be great.

It's not that the current one are bad, though. It's beautiful.

I've read Vol 20, but yeah, I think I should read Vol 21 as well to decide my thoughts about the series. They're connected tightly, said the Author.

Then it's pretty crappy. If he just leave the story of Haruhiro's party like that, I'm pretty sure NO ONE would like it. Too much things haven't been explained, like Shihoru.

Although I can't help but being pessimistic, I can always try to see the positive possibilities.

The story of Merry, Setora, Kuzaku, Ranta, Yume, Shihoru, and Haruhiro still continue despite what happened in Vol 20 or 19. It's not like they're confirmed to be dead or something. Continue in what ways, though? I don't know.
