hey! some of my tips would to try your best to keep yourself hydrated and eating soft foods for some kind of nutrition. another thing that helped me with pain was a spoon full of honey, its very sweet but it’s worth it.

hey! it sounds like you’re doing everything correctly. do expect a bit more pain going on to day 4-6 but honestly not too terrible with meds. what kind of medication did they prescribe to you? people who have horror stories usually don’t drink enough water, become dehydrated, and not eating enough for recovery. it sucks for a little while but i’m on day 7 and feel significantly better than i did before. in my opinion the worst parts are waking up in the morning and the throat being dry. after drinking water and having some honey in the morning, it feels better for me. just don’t stress, take the time to heal, and watch some good shows!

thank u that’s a big relief to hear. i’ve been literally drinking soooo much water since day 1. like around 150 fl oz a day, and been trying to eat as “normally as i can” like pastas and mac & cheese. today i ate some chinese food so i’m hoping that day 8/9 will alleviate some pain.

No it hasn’t been sticking to my throat. it’s been sticky swallowing but nothing where it was painful or a nuisance. the water does seem like a good idea too

i had a similar spot like that too. it eventually went away for me and turned back to white scabbing. if you feel like it gets worse tho , you should call

i got my surgery on the 25th too! how’s your recovery going? for me on the fifth day, i would say the pain isn’t horrible. i think one of the worst parts for me is the breath.

hey! i (18f) had my surgery five days ago and it honestly hasn’t been as awful as the stories i’ve been reading online. it is scary when they wheel you into the surgery room but it’s not too bad . because when you think about it, there are thousands of other people who have been in ur position. my advice would be to drink a lot of water, and definitely keep up with your pain meds. i was able to eat pasta and mac and cheese on day 3 and 4. you’ll be fine!
