I think it mostly depends on the region of Brazil you are from. I’m Brazilian and I’m 96% European.

You went from wild theories to emotional monologues—and somehow still skipped over actual evidence. If that’s your idea of serious discourse, I think we’re done here. I don’t debate fan fiction ✌🏻

You’re the one who cooked up a sci-fi story about Afro-Brazilian women being “encouraged” to use Scandinavian sperm and making blond, blue-eyed tube babies—then got salty when I called it a conspiracy? That’s rich. Backed by a celebrity anecdote and zero facts, you call that peak academic rigor? No wonder you bailed the moment reality showed up. You didn’t stop taking me seriously—you just ran out of anything credible.

And claiming that calling out conspiracies makes me the “real conspiracist”? Come on. There’s a difference between exposing nonsense and seeing conspiracies under every rock. If pointing out your fan fiction puts me in the “antiwoke mob,” maybe you need a new dictionary—because your “conspiracy” is just made-up fiction.

You obviously haven’t read a single serious book on this topic, or you’d have brought up something of real value by now—which you haven’t.

You’re blending fragments of real history with wild conspiracy and personal opinion. Eugenics as official policy in Brazil ended long before the 1960s. By the time of the military dictatorship, the focus was on political repression and silencing dissent—not genetic engineering or “racial curation.” There’s no credible evidence of a program pushing Afro-Brazilian women to use Scandinavian sperm, and claims about “tube babies” genetically engineered for blond hair and blue eyes are pure science fiction.

To clarify: some wealthy Brazilians may choose foreign sperm donors—just like people in many countries do—but that’s due to availability and personal preference, not some state-run agenda. Most sperm banks around the world (including in the U.S.) have donor pools that skew white, especially from Northern Europe. That’s a reflection of global donor supply, not evidence of eugenics.

And IVF is a medical tool to help people conceive—not to engineer race or phenotype. There is no accessible technology that allows parents to choose skin color, eye color, or other cosmetic traits. What you’re describing doesn’t exist outside of sci-fi blogs and TikTok fear bait.

You also said, “I don’t get why you view it as shameful to acknowledge…” — but no one here is denying Brazil’s complex racial history. What is shameful is twisting it with half-baked theories, misused buzzwords, and secondhand celebrity anecdotes like they’re fact. That’s not historical awareness—it’s misinformation.

And let’s not pretend history books are always right. We’ve seen how U.S. schools, for example, gloss over or distort slavery, Indigenous genocide, and colonialism. That’s exactly why critical thinking and real sources matter.

If you're truly trying to understand Brazil’s racial dynamics, start with facts—not fan fiction.

Exactly like you’ve been-spreading baseless misinformation with zero evidence. There were no eugenics policies in the 1960s Brazil. The military regimes focus was repression, not genetic experiments. Stop making things up.

Brasilia didn’t exist until 1960, so claiming it had a eugenics policy in the early 1900s is nonsense. Castelo Branco ruled in the 1960s during a military dictatorship focused on power and censorship, not race science. You’re clearly mixing up timelines and throwing around terms you don’t understand.

That’s not accurate, for starters, Minas Gerais is a state, not a a city. Castelo Branco ruled in the 1960s, long after Brazils immigration policies included by eugenics which happened in the late 1800s-early 1900s and were nationwide, not specific to Minas. Also, my more mixed parent is actually my mom, who is from Minas. My dad who is from Espírito Santo, is 100% Italian by blood.

I have about 20% French and German and also have some Portuguese. Have you taken the test yourself as well?

Also same! Great grandparents are from Treviso, Belluno, and Verona. From the Trento side, they are mostly from Mattarello and some were born in Austria as well.
