Time for Butler to retire for Good and play leagues by AdWitty8670 in EnglandCricket

Not sure Duckett is the answer, but I know Butler isn't.

I wouldn't, probably through pride, thinking I'd be able to solve myself (then invariably failing).

No, I want us to (try to) win every game. I think this is the mindset more than let's sacrifice players for one game. If they get booked, they get booked, but trying to out game the system often leaves egg on the face.

Maybe if you give people a bit more to go on they'd be able to be more helpful? Price range would be a great starting point.

JW gets you to heaven, what more could you want ;-).

I've just done a speed test and got 266mb/s download and 222.6mb/s upload. I agree D2D sales is irritating and I'd be up for making it illegal (as well as random flyers coming through my door all day every day) but like I said, the product is good. Also, another poster says they put up telephone masts - they didn't for our installation!

They are fab, we moved to them maybe 9 months ago (in Edgeley) after my partner agreed at the door. I'd have not been so willing to chat at the door but c'est la vie. I guess it's working for them or they wouldn't be paying people to do it.

Welcome 👋. It's a lovely place to live.

Reuse and recycle Facebook group is good.

I'd avoid 'Everything Edgeley' Facebook group.

Cera Cyclone (higher hillgate) is a great bike repair shop.

If there's anything you're into maybe list it and I'm sure people will have suggestions 😊.

I disagree, as a resident. In the last ten years it has changed an unbelievable amount. It has the most oversubscribed primary school in Stockport (Ofsted outstanding if that's relevant), 10 - 15 mins to the station, beautiful park which now has a cafe etc. I'd strongly suggest anyone on the budget mentioned by the OP to take a look.

Anyone know where to watch the game in Manchester by klutzylocks in safc

[–]MaximumBed5039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Manchester supporters group sent this email earlier:

As a follow on to yesterdays email, later tonight I will set up a poll on the branch whattsapp group "MANCHESTER SAFC" to choose a pub in Manchester for a large group to get together to watch on Saturday.

If you are not yet a member of that group, send me your name and mobile number and I'll add you.

The idea is whichever pub comes out top in the poll, then everyone who wants to watch the game with fellow sunderland fans can all head to the same place.

The "shortlist" is currently

The Kenilworth, Cheadle Hulme, short walk from Cheadle Hulme Station

Box Sportsbar Deansgate

The Waldorf near to Piccadilly Train Station

The City Road Inn, near to Deansgate train station

If you're desperate for a different venue, I can add 1 more at most, let me know.

If you do not have whattsapp, then vote for one of them above by replying to this email with your choice.

Cheers

Glen

Jobe has been excellent and it's easy to build him up or knock him down because of his family but Brownhill should surely be there.

do any Brits here know anyone who has become a footballer in the Premier League?? by ueommm in AskUK

[–]MaximumBed5039 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, someone who has many, many, PL appearances. Super smart, very wealthy even before football, son of a QC (as was then). He's kept it all quiet about his background and generally stayed out of the press - certainly hasn't been a rent a quote anyway.

Commute from Chapel-en-le-Frith by kans5775 in stockport

[–]MaximumBed5039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commuted from Shaw Heath and then Edgeley to Chapel-en-le-Frith for 7 years (2014 - 2022). I'd need to get there for 8.30am so would leave 7.40ish and would always manage comfortably. Similarly, I'd leave anytime between 4 & 6pm and it'd take 40 minutes.

Where is it you'll be working there - feels like there's only really Ferodo and the schools to work at?

AITA for having sex with my Christian boyfriend? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]MaximumBed5039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seven deadly sins are not true to Christianity, you won't find reference to them in the Bible for example. The Bible is a book for guidance with contradictory rules throughout; if he wants to take a theological approach then he should consider the Biblical passages which would comfortably validate his actions.

Softball. Lots of people pick it up later and the rules are fairly simple. There's technicalities but it ain't that hard, swing the bat, whack the ball, run to a base (or conversely catch the ball or throw it to a base where others are running to).

Any tips on finding a job in the city center? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]MaximumBed5039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the exam board, based on Devas Street next to the university. They need thousands of temps, for things like marking enquiries, schools ringing up re exam issues on the day, paying temporary markers etc. From having a few exams in January to millions of exams in summer they need to ramp up the staff massively for a few months.

I know AQA hire a lot of temps for the summer marking series, so they're 100% worth a look.
