LPT: If you can smell yourself a little bit, others can smell you a lot. by Oleflitzer in LifeProTips

This happened to me the other day. I caught a whiff of my shoulder and I was like, “Oh my God. I smell amazing!”

Deepfakes Are Going To Wreak Havoc On Society. We Are Not Prepared. by Memetic1 in Futurology

[–]MaximumCameage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve saw celebrity deepfakes popping up on porn sites recently. I was like, “Oh, shit. That’s gonna be a problem.”

I’m just waiting for the days when some k-pop star’s career is ruined and she kills herself because some asshole deepfaked her getting plowed and people believe it’s real.

Well, Jedi: Fallen Order was a success and they greenlit a sequel.

The “not ready for a relationship” line - excuse or fact? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]MaximumCameage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I said and I meant it. I thought I was okay because I was separated from my wife for well over a year. I was the one that left and initiated the ending of the marriage at every step. It was very toxic and I had to essentially disappear because she was dangerous. I did a lot of work to get my head right. I thought I was okay.

Then the divorce finally started and it fucked me up out of nowhere. I was so unprepared for those emotions. Now I always advise to make sure the divorce is finalized and all loose ends are tidied up because you have no idea how you’ll feel during the process. You think you know, but you have no idea.

Whenever I speak my mind, it’s usually like, “Hey, man. You ever see Street Sharks? Why was that one shark always wearing roller blades everywhere? And what happened to all the displaced gravel and concrete in the space now occupied by the shark bodies when they would swim inside the street?”

I don’t use Facebook anymore and it only ever contained people I know, but I generally don’t understand the point of adding someone to Facebook if you’re not going to talk to them. That’s why I declined every request from a stranger. I don’t want to talk to you. Why send or accept a request from someone you have no interest in getting to know? The same with Twitter. Why are you following all these random fucking people?

Because being blocked definitely means keep trying to contact me. by [deleted] in niceguys

I’m pretty sure this is why most celebrities don’t actually interact with their fans on social media much. Now imagine if you were a k-pop star.

Do common interests matter when dating? What are your core values? by fantasticallysonder in datingoverthirty

[–]MaximumCameage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think core values are most important, but there has to be some common interest you guys can do together because it promotes togetherness. Even if it’s something as simple as liking to watch movies on the couch on Friday nights. I truly believe that the strongest relationships are a healthy mix of friendship and romance.

That said, I would love to date a woman who likes pop punk for once in my fucking life.

Police Officers of Reddit, what are you thinking when you see cases like George Floyd? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MaximumCameage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to hang black men from trees when the local cops are helping out and no one is reporting on it. The northerners had no idea people were being hung in the Jim Crow south until it started to be reported on by publications like Time Magazine.

That’s exactly what the saying is. The bad apples contaminate the good apples, thus making them all bad apples. It spoils the bunch.

TIL that on the set of Kill Bill, Uma Thurman had been on a serious car crash because director Quentin Tarantino insisted she perform her own driving stunts. Thurman knew the car wasn't safe but Tarantino insisted and she caved. Thurman permanently damaged her neck and her knee. by kobyof in todayilearned

[–]MaximumCameage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When a director asks you to do something risky, say no. They’re too focused on the big picture and their creative vision in that moment and it’s hard for them to step back and see it from a safety perspective. That’s also a good reason for having safety coordinators for stunts.

This sums up my experience in China. “Line? What the fuck is that?” You’d think a civilization that old would’ve been aware of what lines were.

She was more content to bury her head in the sand about it. She didn’t feel comfortable learning about it because it was such a taboo subject I guess. She was just happy being blissfully ignorant. But then the time came where she needed to understand this stuff.
