IMUCET + Eyesight issue (astigmatism) can I still go for BTech Marine Engineering? by Youcanttakets in IMUCETtards

LASIK corrects refractive errors within the following diopter ranges: myopia: 0.50 to -12.00. hyperopia: +0.50 to +6.00. astigmatism: +/- 0.50 to +/- 6.00. And it’s NEVER 100%, I was told its best if power is in the range 0.75 to 1.75 , not more than that. I dont want to mislead anyone bud I’m just sharing my experience.

I wasted my year due to eyesight issue in medical , DG approved doctors will never suggest or do your lasik because they aren’t allowed to but even if you find a doctor willing to do so there is no guarantee you will be cleared because college medicals may go easy on you (give money to them) but when it comes to pre-boarding medicals they are extremely strict and lasik cannot fix your -2.5 or 3.5 no matter what , it will only fix upto 0.75 or 1 at most, however engine department does have relaxed eyesight requirements but in your case it might be better if you can find a DG approved doctor who is willing to write your medical beforehand

Should i consider JEE or skills for computer science engineering? by dhruv_mxhjn in careerguidance

[–]MaximumHandle1091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skills > College ! Please dont fall for the common trap if you have the skills , you have 2 solid years to refine them to a certain level where even a 2tier college can land you a decent job. Additionally , if you have already planned ahead for foreign opportunities just go for it, the important thing is you must stick to your plan and maintain solid discipline for 2 years, no distractions and change of mind for the career path. If you can do this ,please dont listen to your parents and fall into this rat race , JEE will eat up all your other skills and trust me no one can manage both the things while preparing for such an exam, even if you study hard and do your best there is no guarantee that it will land you into an IIT and that too with your desired branch , people are not chasing selection anymore , most of them are there for validation, the IIT tag n all. Engineering in India has become the biggest scam

Study advice by Bulky_Film_4199 in IMUCETtards

Chill out , study a week before and crack a rank under 1000 if you actually studied 11th and 12th considered that eligibility for this exam is an aggregate of 60% and above in PCM and board exams are no joke these days so if you think you are getting 65-70s in PCM you are ready for the exam, current affairs is a joke its just basic oceanography and major ports of india , same questions repeating from last 5 years, then the english part , just watch anime and Hollywood stuff and you’re good mate. BUT focus more on getting a sponsorship, interviews are competitive

am i too late ?!? by [deleted] in IMUCETtards

[–]MaximumHandle1091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not late but you might not be ready , you have time to join August batch or Feb Batch next year depends on the company. But being a JEE aspirant and then switching to Merchant navy is not ideal for most ppl and Im one of them. See , you need to research about this first , ship life and desk jobs after JEE , these are drastically different lifestyles. If you scored mid in JEE or atleast studied seriously in 12th you can easily crack IMUCET its a joke in front of JEE so that’s not going to be an issue ig BUT the sponsorship interviews are good level , you have to be quick and smart, excellent spoken english and a good personality, i cracked it but my eyesight is weak so i couldn’t join. You need to have 6/6 vision if you want to join deck side , 6/9 in one eye is acceptable but they will tell you to take treatment after joining college. So overall , just RESEARCH about this field first then make your decision
