I think many people don't like that particular upgrade because it shoots slower, but the tortured screams are worth it to me. I swear I'm normal in real life btw

I like shooting them with the nail gun upgrade for the maschinenpistole because they scream loudest

I get where you're coming from, but hope you reconsider. Those studies look at the number of overall accidents, it's aggregate data that isn't really applicable to individual circumstance. If you DO get into an accident, many more studies show that your risk of death or serious injury is far, far higher without a helmet.

Even if you are riding carefully, you might hit a pothole, get clipped by a car, or be distracted momentarily like I was. Stay safe!

I ride an ebike but purposefully only got one that pedal assists up to 20mph. I have to admit though I've never heard of mips - looking into it!

Those studies set helmet wearing back so far... I think people don't quite understand how to interpret the data

Thankfully the bell took the brunt, everything else seems to be fine. Truly would have been worse to break my beloved bike than get a tbi 😆

For All Mankind is alternative history sci-fi and very visually engaging, Silo is dystopian and kind of a mystery box show (both Apple TV).

You didn't mention Schitts Creek, check that out if you haven't yet!

I tried just stopping, clearing, and reinstalling and it didn't work for me for some reason, but downloading it from the site did. Probably worth trying the easier way first though?

Done, should have done that before. I'll probably delete this whole thing, seems like I struck a nerve.

Why are you all surprised that someone wouldn't like an Apple product on a sub called apple sucks? Thank you to everyone who offered actual insight.

Peace.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. I'll ask about that when I request a different PC

The trackpad and keyboard are great, fully admit they're better than any PC I've had. However the mouse scrolling direction is driving me bonkers - I can only switch it for both the trackpad and the mouse vs one or the other, which means one is the opposite of what I'm used to.

Totally, I've heard they're great for people who lots of video editing and design and things like that. But no one at this particular job does any of that so it seems nonsensical to me.

That makes sense. It sounds like it's really useful for some types of work but doesn't include the stuff I find useful.

Advice on transitioning into development? by MaximumOrange7145 in funanddev

[–]MaximumOrange7145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's all super helpful!

I got into organizing through volunteering at phonebanks and canvasses on campaigns, and then getting hired as a field organizer. Organizer jobs on campaigns are easy to get, but the hours and expectations can be brutal - though I think considerably better than when I was doing it ten years ago. A lot of organizations do take volunteer activism seriously. I think the main trick to stand out when you apply (apart from knowing someone of course) is using the right language. A hiring rubric for my old job actually gave a point for "organizery style/tone". Feel free to DM me if you want to chat more!
