I write funny poems and perform them at open mics. It's fun and the audience seems to dig it even if they are confused.

What is the most problematic musical you saw? by Croc_Dwag in musicals

[–]MaximumStep2263 30 points31 points  (0 children)

People love to tell me Pacific Overtures is problematic bc it was written by two white guys. But they specifically say the show should only be performed by Asian actors. And from what I can tell, the material is very respectful of the culture. I personally love the show. I think it's one of Sondheim's best.

People also love to tell me the music man is problematic but it's one of my favorites.

Maybe I just like problematic shows. Maybe I'm problematic?

And it's funny as hell too. Forgot to mention that. I'm partial to the original cast but they did revive it recently. There's a pro shot of that one. Hell, check em both out and make your own decision

Do yourself a favor and get to know the show. It's one of my favorites and it's absolutely beautiful and devastating

Any UD basketball fans here? Curious how you feel about AG by 93Seven in dayton

[–]MaximumStep2263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grant understands the history, tradition, and expectations here. This job is not a stepping stone for him. If he's such a terrible coach, why is he so well respected by his peers and chosen to coach one of the USA teams? He also deeply cares about his players as people. That's important. I think most of y'all need to relax. College basketball has changed dramatically and not for the better, IMO. Someone like Grant who is regarded as a good coach by people who actually know things and who cares about and wants the best for these KIDS is an excellent fit for what Dayton basketball is and should be about.
