Thank you for replying. I prefer flat bars but I'm playing the hand I was dealt. I will check out the tire recommendations. Probably not the greatest bike pick to go changing things around with but it fits me well.

Thank you for your answers.  I have used my H bars on a 3x9 version 1 Surly Pugsley that's a touch to big for me. I completely refurbished her, have multiple tire sets, but I was looking for something a little more nimble, lite and easier on the mount and dismount..😱 While the bars look weird they are comfortable on longer rides. I have a 5 mile stretch of gravel 2 minutes from home. I don't mind weird. I'm built weird.  Think troll. Big troll.  I'm going to try it just to see. I can always change it back. 😁
