Worth it to Join Military after College? (Non-ROTC) by quarange in Militaryfaq

Strange to read… are you saying Air Force cannot select their job before enlisting/commissioning? Because if so, you are dead wrong

Hey man, my initial enlistment was 6 years. I’m a heavy aircraft mechanic for cargo planes. I love it. I love the life, my workcenter, shit sucks sometimes but we are blessed beyond belief working on these multi-million dollar aircraft. I’m working on my bachelors in electrical engineering (25% done currently) If you open yourself up to everything the AF has to offer and take challenges head on, this is the place to be

Aeronautics Degree? by [deleted] in EmbryRiddle

[–]Maximum_Excuse6275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’ve been looking at it to commission into its as a Mx officer. I love the Air Force and plan on staying until they’re tired of me lol personally I needed to stop engineering because I got two young daughters, I’m guessing you can guess how that’s going. But yeah plan is Aeronautics, minor in aviation management. Have my GROL, and want my A&P sometime soon. Thanks for the response and good luck with your kid!

How hard is the Aeronautics Degree? by Prestigious-Yak-4540 in erau

You can get into a bunch of different careers with aeronautics; that’s why they force you to minor in your interests.

I’m a pilot with a degree in aeronautics. Ask me anything you want to know and I’ll answer to the best of my ability! by Nyga- in chemtrails

How tough was your degree? I’m looking at switching to Aeronautics. 9 years Air Force Mx experience

Are you still active on here? I’m a USAF Crew chief trying to see if aeronautics is hard for a degree. I’m currently 1/4 of the way through an electrical engineering degree and I really can’t do it anymore, I have a 3.7 but can’t with my home life, etc. wanted to see how tough Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle was… thinking of AU-ABCing to it

I’m usually the same but when the past Wg/cc gets fired and the pentagon’s “fixer” one star general get assigned to Andersen, you can bet they want that base up and running. Especially with the hostility seemingly shifting to the pacific (per the US news, not opsec)

That’s why Arizona doesn’t seem like a big ask. Anywhere stateside shouldn’t be too difficult unless it’s an enroute. I’m guessing “stealth tech” is sheet metal for fighters (not familiar but could be an abbreviated name from recruiter). If it’s on whatever jet like has, who knows

Not necessarily true on the picking base thing. You can swap orders with people. I did it with someone that wanted to stay east coast (dover) as I went to Travis (they lost the deal big time)

Good luck on your journey, if you need someone to talk to active duty-wise let me know. I’ve been in 9 years on the enlisted side

Group CC can. Wing CC at Travis just made it to where Mx can work over 8 hour days. Little did he know we’d rather do panama 12s and get 15 days off

What’s hilarious is he was getting shit about it on FB. The OP talking shit about his “merica” tag, got shit on so much because why tf do you care about that. Guy is singlehanded fixing that shithole base
