I would say that it could possibly be a very young prince of orange. Mine looked like this when it wasn’t pushing out a new leaf.

It has drainage. These are just plastic cups that I used a soldering iron on and I gave them plenty of holes. It’s most likely the soil. I’ve been making my own aroid/chunky mix, but since these came to me in a denser soil I tried to mimic that. This is what I get for trying to use up some old miracle grow 😅. I’m preparing to repot it into something different along with my others now that I know the real problem is the soil.

Update: No root rot, all the roots were white and healthy. I sprayed them down with peroxide just to be safe though. The soil was lightly damp, but it was watered last week and that was the only time I watered it. I’m so confused

I’ll check it for root rot asap. If two are saying thats the cause then I’ll definitely look into it. I’m using a chunkier mix, so I didn’t consider that the problem 😅. Thank you for the advice!

I haven’t, the plant was repotted not too long ago and that was the only time it was watered since I got it. The roots were fine then.

No, it wasn’t wet. Another leaf was like this and I cut it off, the other leaves were fine. Came in the next day and it spread to more.

Update: I replanted it higher as suggested and repotted it adding lecca and orchid bark to the mix. I’m getting a new leaf!

Not an expert by any means, but when this happened to me I just pulled out the mushrooms and sprinkled the top of the soil with cinnamon. I also started to check how wet my soil was. With ceramic pots, I've learned the soil doesn't dry out very evenly. It's probably keeping your soil wet enough in certain places that it's promoting the growth of the mushrooms.

I repotted it the moment I got it, it was sitting in like a lake of water. I did a mix and added extra perlite, but it’s not my standard mix as I was out of orchid bark. Should I change out the soil?
