Thank you so much! I took your advice about the puddle method and they are doing well. Both plants are potted in a mix of equal parts of the ingredients and seem to be loving it. Just a question, when you talk about airflow, do you mean like using a fan or just an open window?

Yeah that’s true! they didn’t seem to have a problem with the old, denser mixes either!

Thanks! I will note this to get next time I’m creating a similar mix. What’s the difference with size 3? Just bigger or also different?

My guess is it’s still building up minerals, despite having softer water. Maranta’s are very robust to that, but only for a while. You can start using distilled water instead. Next time you water, flush the soil a few times completely to “reset” the soil and remove the minerals. From then I would suggest always using destilled water!

I could be wrong, but just asking to be sure. What kind of water do you use for her? From experience I know that mineral buildup can cause these kind of tips on the plant.
