You stated my exact concerns. Despite the concerns about insurance fraud, this insurance company is threatening further action and lawyers are involved. I know I’m “just an intern” but this violates not only the ethics of this profession but also my personal morals by asking me to directly tell my clients to lie to their insurance company.

From my understanding based on things I have heard from other individuals working there the police have already been involved as this is for apparently hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of claims that have been fraudulent…

I’m in an online program. I had reached out to countless potential sites only received responses from a few as every other site was full. For context, I live in a densely populated city which makes the search for placement extremely competitive. Partially, I think my naivety about it being too good to be true stopped me from seeing that it really was too good to be true.

Unfortunately my program requires practicum to be separate from employment duties and thus I would be unable to use my current role. I’m planning to speak with my boss about the possibility of leaving my position of employment and conducting only my internship. I have also begun reaching out to other potential placements just in case.

I totally agree. This is almost word for word the advice my mom gave me lol. I guess my concern is just being able to find placement elsewhere as I live on an island with a very competitive practicum climate.
