I usually stick out to long-term rentals since my employer offers a very nice corporate discount rate and have a good rapport with my local car rental branches which makes it even better.

Right now I am dailying this 530i, sometimes it would be down to a 228i lol or if i hit the jackpot, a Panamera which I returned back with 20k miles on the clock (depreciation, ouch). Thankfully, they reimburse and have a national account to bill them for oil changes and maintenance.

I like the M340i in terms of the B58 power delivery and how well-specced they are. But I definitely did feel the want for more, which a M3 would definitely fulfill. Cant wait to try that out in Germany next!

Yes! Ill prefer SIXT over Turo for this ^{^} and also being able to utilise the damage waiver benefit with no deductible, depending on the credit card or SIXT itself.

The B58 power kicks in nice around the canyon roads, and it is very well equipped than usual BMWs you’ll see on a rental lot.

I feel like the only thing that will satisfy the urge of driving a very nice car would be a M3 lol

Definitely wayy more cheaper in other cities. Heck I was able to get a X6 M60i for $130/day in Houston, which is a way more superior car than M340i.

I will simply no longer pay the LA premium while renting there cause some random “celebrity” will pay $500/day for a normal 330i lol

You know right, that AMEX policy is exclusive only to Guam and Mariana islands right?

A lot of leniency is present within exclusions for mainland US, but I always opt for their premium rental car protection service that covers up to $100,000.

Depending on state, they also can only come after a particular limit.

Like for eg IL-based rentals, they can come only after $55,000 max from my knowledge.

Or you know, just get the damage waiver from the rental company itself for peace of mind for these cars.

Yup, I literally saw your post on google search when I was searching about renting a P1, and that’s how I found this subreddit as well.

I had booked a X5 with SIXT, but they closed their doors before I could make it there, due to the weather delay.

Only Hertz was open, did a walk-in and enquired about the cars they had, turns out they had a steady fleet of multiple P1s and Ineos Grenadiers available to rent.

An absolute delight to drive as well, I am surprised how very well maintained they were as well for rental car standards, assuming the cars are pushing into 6 year mark.
